PSP 32GB Sony card a fake?

CAGiversary!
So I purchased a 32GB Memory Stick Pro Duo off ebay for my PSP. The seller claims it was an official Sony brand card and when I got it the card itself looks real. Sony & Magic Gate logo, came in Sony packaging (Japan version as text was in Japanese), "Made in Korea" on back. I was pretty pumped but when I put it into my PSP I see "30GB Magic Gate - Unknown"

Does the Unknown mean this card is 100% a fake? Does the PSP have any issues with 32gb cards that this could be a false positive? Any way for me to test this card to see if it is legit or do I need to format it somehow before just putting it in my PSP?

Thanks and link to the item below:

It sounds like you might have gotten a fake.  Official Memory Stick Pro Duo cards (whether Sony or one of the few other brands) should always say "Magic Gate - Supported" when in the PSP.  The 32gb card should be compatible with the PSP, here is a compatibility chart:

Did you load it up with games to test it out?  Did you scrutinize the markings on the front/back of the card and compare them to those of authentic ones (google images search can help this).  Good luck either way, you might have to contact the seller and see what they have to say.

Welp I put in an eBay claim because the card seems to be fake fake totally fake. I did some googling and last night I found another post with a woman from 2011 claiming that the same model card did not work properly in her camera. She posted pictures and guess what, both her and my card have the same EXACT serial number! What are the odds hahaha? Doubting Sony would ever re-use a serial number I would say that these bootleggers were too lazy to even change the numbers on the cards they produce. Hopefully no one else grabs any from this seller. Waiting to get my money back.

yeah it should say supported, you are on the latest fw right?

there is a program to run on your computer for the card that will check the size and tell you how big the card really is.  I used it when I bought the 8Gb card for my PSP Go when I still had a psp go.

Another simple test is just to load ~30gb of data into it and see how much it holds before it gets full.  Fakes are alms t never true size.

Given the serial number is the SAME as another woman's from 2011 I am assuming it's fake and I can skip the tests. Already started an ebay claim.
