Help me pick my next gen system

I am looking to get a new system soon and I haven't decided which to get yet. There is currently one 1 exclusive per console that I am interested in. Forza and MLB the show, all the other games are cross platform that will be released within the next year or so. I've heard that ps4 has better resolution, but the multiplayer is still not up to par with xbox?

Both systems are now priced at 399, and a bundle or cheaper priced system would be great!

I would say probably about 65-70% of the people I have been talking to have told me to get a ps4, but some wouldn't give any valid reasons other than it's a next gen ps4. I should probably note that my only sony product is a vita and haven't owned any playstation consoles before.

I have got to play both systems, and both look amazing. There is not a big difference in graphics when played on my actual tv compared to my friends giant 60inch tv and mine being close to 40 in.

How is the online on a ps4 compared to xbox? I hope me having some issues waiting for people to play online with mlb the show for the vita doesn't have anything to do with how the new systems online multiplayer is. I currently have a 360 and there always seems to be a community of people available at all times to play with including people on my friends list.

With the new UFC game out, I would like to pick up one soon and either get MLB or Forza to go along with it until the fall when all the new games come out.

So which system do you think I should go with and why ?

(I already have a WII U which is why it was not added to the list)

Edit: Was also wondering with the new systems. I haven't seen or heard anything about any type of headset coming with either system such as the standard headset in the xbox 360.

The PS4 includes a cheap, crappy headset. I'm not sure about the $399 XBox One, but the $499 one with Kinect has a good headset.

If you get a XBox One, get a $499 bundle with Kinect 2 and a free Forza 5 download. They exist. Kinect 2 is pretty good.

I have owned all three systems, and would say XBox One is my favorite. Throw in the Kinect 2 and hands down it wins - the Kinect 2 beats PS4's camera. However if we're comparing straight consoles, it's a harder decision.

Make a list of all your favorite games from last gen. Add up the total for each console and that should tell you which console is right for you. You can thank me later.

Also, if you still own a Vita, that might be another advantage.  Remote play is awesome and will make the experience that much better.  But without starting a this is just hands down better than this without reason like someone already posted, and I am sure many others will follow.  Make a list of the type of games you like, the exclusives you like, and then also look at all games announced and which ones you prefer.  For instance games Like sunset overdrive, Quantum Break, Halo, Gears of War, and Forza... then Xbox should be your choice.  If you like Uncharted, Little Big Planet, The Order (Gears like), Blood Borne, Ratchet and Clank, Kill Zone, Gran Turismo/Driveclub... Then the PS4 is your choice.  Don't let anyone else tell you this or I did this on one or the other, make your decision solely on games.

If you have any questions about games and what's coming up, ask.  I am sure there is more out there you might be interested in.

Going based off just the two games you are interested in.  PS4 has DriveClub, and MLB.  Xbox has Forza and no baseball, so that should help you based off those two games.  But try and find more games to help the decision.

As others have already stated, pick the system that has the games you want to play you won't be disappointed.

On a side note - I have a PS3 but never signed up for Plus so I don't know how it works with the PS4, but if you decide on the X-One and have the extra money to buy a 360, one Gold membership will work for both. You can dl the GwG for each system (360 - 2 games/month which you can keep & X-One - 1 maybe, 2 games/month which you can play only if you have Gold) and play back and forth between the two and you may not have to buy a game for a while. My friend finally bought a 360 and I told him to add the free X-One games to his account so he'll already have a library of games to play when he gets the One.

PS Plus allows you to buy 6 free games a month across Vita, PS3, and PS4. Again a lot of the arguments for either are moot and they have something to combat them. it should just be about the games if you are unsure which to get.

Good to know. I have nothing against Plus, it's just that I never signed up for it and didn't want to give incorrect info. So it seems my side note can be done with either system assuming you can purchase two systems at once.

I do like the Gears of War series, but I heard it could be up to 2016 before anything for it is released ? All of the other games like UFC, Batman and the Assassin creed series are cross platform. I play them on pc and 360.

You mentioned that you own a gaming PC. If you have a mid tier/high end gaming PC there is no reason to upgrade to any the next gen consoles until 2015 at the earliest. Unless, there is a specific game you want to play right away.

I say this as someone who owns and loves all 3 next gen consoles.

someone may have mentioned this, but best buy either currently or soon will have a deal on the xbox one, where you pay 500 and get the kinect bundle with a download of forza and a free copy of call of duty ghosts. I believe that is correct, can someone confirm?

I decided to go with PS4 when the Destiny Bundle comes out.

+ I like trophies better than achievements, mainly because of the platinum trophy.

+ I like the idea of uploading screenshots, Xbox One dont have that yet, but i heard they are working on it.

+ It has more exclusives im interested in. Uncharted, The Order 1886, Infamous, hopefully a new God of War in the next 1-2 years.

+ I already had 2 years of PS+ and still have it until 2015, so im good to go already.

The difference between both consoles just the exclusive games. Other than that they r pretty same side.

If u like sunset overdrive, halo 5, halo masterchief edition, dr3, forza 5, forza horizon 2, KI and titanfall.U will satisfy if u choose xbox one.

If u like uncharted 4, last of us remaster, killzone bla..bla..bla..u will satisfy if u choose ps4.

Choose ur side mate. Life is tough.
