My mistake. I thought I was in the deals thread but I seem to have clicked on a new section called "msrp announcements" by accident. Im glad though, I get so tired of having to look in the deals section for msrp prices.
 
Newegg is unreliable. They always cancel LEs and CEs due to insufficient stock or because they found out later they won't be getting any.

While I fully agree, at least this edition SEEMS to be selling out unlike the usual "it was simply announced and I am here to tell you" posts we see. With that being said, Newegg has a so so history with CEs and special editions, so I wouldn't put much faith in them.

Just called my local gamestop to verify. You can still preorder in store. Online every console aside from the ps4 is available for preorder as of right now.

 
I would hold off, if its activision they'll over produce it and these high price collectors edition tend to really drop in prices down the road. I've seen the whats included in the ghost edition, nothing special just the usuals. The ghost robot seems just like a light up talking toy, very generic too. I Could be wrong of course, just from experiece of buying those COD collectors editions for way less then their asking price, I mean the last one was free, courtesy of Best Buy though.
 
DO NOT buy collector's editions from Newegg. If they're not overproduced, Newegg is infamous for canceling your preorder at the last minute and leaving you out in the cold.

exactly cause if I remember right they did the same exact thing with bravely default ce I believe the day or two before release date

Yes, yesterday. The PS4 version sold out in mere hours. A lot of folks are banking on Best Buy listing it though so they can use Gamer Unlocked discounts.
 
the same people laughing at the activision CE's selling out will be the same people crying about flippers and excuses why they didnt pre-order in time. bungie stated these will be extremely limited and judging how every site sold out in less than a day including gamestop who had a limit of 1, i'd say thats pretty telling. gamestop stores are only getting allocated a certain amount per store. if you want to wait, by all means go ahead lol, i know i got my pre-order in and it didnt cost me anything on amazon, i can always cancel later

You say that like it means anything. Every company says that about every special edition... while nobody can say for sure, a vast majority of special editions don't end up being rare at all. And even then, I still get the feeling that a lot of CEs sell out simply because flippers/re-sellers order a ton of copies (given how many of them post pictures of stack of stock).

With all of that said though, the Ghost Edition looks like it'll probably be genuinely rare.

well, judging that it sold out in mere hours at all the retailers that stocked it that means something, but do whatever you want to do though, as stated i got mine. you can wait and believe whatever you want

 
Amazon was back in stock when I was home for lunch. Wondering if I should cancel my newegg preorder or if these are actually going to be rare. I prefer Amazon's release day delivery to NewEgg and me getting it like a week later.

I would cancel your preorder at NewEgg if you could find it at GS / AMZ / any retailer like that, since NewEgg is infamous for canceling preorders and sometimes never even getting stock of said item in the first place.

I got in for a PS4 Ghost at Amazon earlier today.

I am GCU with best buy, so if they get it I am ordering it through them and cancelling my amazon pre-order.  I just wanted to guarantee I get one.

Amazon has the Xbox 360 + PS3 versions in stock. Might end up ordering one of those just for the extras if I can't find an Xbox One version anywhere... >_<

That would be kind of pointless since the big value lies in the expansion pack pass and those codes would be no good to you

No, the big value lies in the Ghost toy thing, since thats ALL thats unique to the Ghost edition (besides case) and that is costing you nearly 50% more than the standard CE (which no one is clamoring to buy and includes the expansion packs...). Anyway, you could arguably sell the code and make back some of your money (prob $20+) and even then, Amazon is selling the PS3/4 version (I imagine M$ side will be the same or similar) of the codes for $35, so these aren't extremely high priced things either.

Neither am I... If you want the ghost edition, then ALL the value is on the ghost figure, since you can buy the standard collectors edition with the expansion packs for $50 less. I merely pointed out that you could buy that and sell the stuff you don't want for a slightly more expensive version with all the content you wanted in an effort to help the person. Sheesh.

No, I agree with you regarding this CE (and already have mine pre-ordered), but just saying that you can't take a developers word for something being rare or not. I mean, Bungie released some Halo CEs that were laughably over-produced too.

I'm more worried that Newegg will fuck up. I've had bad luck with them before with pre-orders...

i dont trust certain developers either but i hd a feeling this would be pretty rare. also newegg is absolutely atrocious with their pre-orders, so your worrying is justified. If i were you i would try to get on best buy when they put theirs up, i know i will cancel my amazon order when they do because i have the gamers club unlocked.

I don't think that Bungie/Activision has bothered showing it off on last gen consoles (can you blame them?). But I'm sure that once beta opens up next week you'll see some comparison shots and/or videos.

So keep an eye out on their site, I keep my Destiny search on a tab and refresh occasionally

I'm sure someone will throw up a thread when it becomes available

Edit - looks like they have it listed for Best Buy Canada so I'm assuming U.S. will be listing theirs soon... Hopefully

I was at work when this was announced and PS4 was sold out everywhere by the time I saw it. So I just kept my regular ps4 preorder and ordered a 360 ghost version. If I can find a PS4 ghost anywhere, 360 is getting cancelled.
