Do I got to trade it in towards the xbox one? They would just give me a gift card like if I traded a game in right?

I remember when Best Buy gave me $200 for two 20GB Phat Consoles without the 20GB. Love you Best Buy, you guys killed 2013.

I just looked the value up on there trade in center and it looks like they just give you the gift card for the system so I'm thinking u could trade in both then use the gift card on anything you wanted. I'm contemplating trading in my ps4 now since I pretty much just use it for Netflix and blu rays on the bedroom but I got an extra blu ray player I could hook back up that I was using in there before I got my ps4 and xbox one. Hmmmm...

Trading in 2 controllers kills this deal for me.  How about if people actually own only 1 controller?

you Are only required to trade it in with one controller, two controller is optional
Edit: actually you aren't even required to trade in one controller to be eligible for $100

Can anybody tell me how much I would get for a dualschock 3 controller at gamestop? I got one red and one camo if that matters?

should be able to cause there no requirement listed that you have to purchase a Xbox one.
That's what I was thinking, but then again the title thing is "Trade In and Trade Up."

I only need to bring in the: console + HDD, controller and the power cord, right? Or do I need other things/the packaging?

that all you need. And that should net you $110 and if i am reading the terms right, you can keep the controller if you wanted and still get $100 for the rest

That`s all targeted promotional stuff designed to get a person in the store willing to commit to the XB1 @ BB. They`re just playing the #`s game that`s all. If it was a GS promo you would have to have the system purchase linked to the receipt for the promo to take effect. When BB ran a similar promo before on both systems/games it was the same result they just give the gc & some reps asked of you wanted the promotion.

So my 4gb slim that has a 250gb hdd doesn't qualify for this promo? I've been thinking of trading in my xbox and all my games since I don't want to deal with getting shot if I sell it in craigslist.

Pussy. I deal with Craigslist. Unarmed.... in Detroit. Tell me how scary your Craigslist transactions are again.

So, has anyone here actually done this? Says the deal runs through 8/2. I just want to do a trade for a gift card, no upgrade or new console.

Basically I just want to know if it's a smooth, simple process like trading in a game. Obviously they have to test the console out - I can deal with that. I just don't want to deal with it if for some reason the promo is broken, or confusing to their oft confused employees.

edit: also I'm looking to trade the 120GB PS3 slim, CECH-2001. I'm assuming that is eligible? It doesn't specify a HDD requirement for the PS3, just the 360 has to be 250GB.

So I just traded in my ps3 today. Frustrating... The first best buy I went to went through the whole process of testing the console which worked fine then she only wanted to give me fair condition instead of good. Luckily the first store wasn't a completely wasted trip because I got the free hunger games pass. 2nd store didn't test it the guy just told me straight out because of a small amount of dust and one very light scuff mark or scratch on the side only fair condition again. Keep in mind I took it to the store in the original box a cleanly packed up. I even had the average cables, controller charging cord, and power cable, along with the warranty or instruction book that came with it. Well the 3rd store tested it and gave me the whole $100 but they didn't want to take my controllers because instead of the black one on the box I had a red and camo. So after some more arguing which I hate doing they reluctantly took my controllers but she had to act like she was doing me a favor!!! Then they where like we'll the system didn't come with 2 controllers so we can only take one. So a little more arguing but luckily I walked out of there with a $120 gift card. After I bought a blu ray I wanted so I could be sure the gift card works also. Should I call best buy corporate?

Edit: I recommend if u guys trade a console in to clean it with a quick tip and clean it off as good as u can. I dusted mine off mostly but had just a little dust in the corners and around the USB ports. Frustrating experience but I traded a ipad in there once and didn't have any trouble at all.

The part about "trading up" shouldn't be an issue; they'll just give you a gift card regardless of whether or not you want to buy a new console. As for the rest, it's probably going to depend on your store. My experience was painless. The guy doing the trade-in didn't even test the consoles or anything, just punched it into the system, got my info, and handed me the gift card.

I'm assuming they won't take 3rd party controllers for the 2 controllers with console trade-in, right?  Wording could be interpreted in different ways, so i'm curious if anyone got it to work.  I have two PS3 batarang controllers i'd like to get rid of and would prefer to keep my first party controllers.

Best Buy is getting REAL STRICT.

They refused to honor this and told me that my system was in fair condition. Wanted to give me $60 for it.

I guess corporate sent out a memo.
