So today I was going to bestbuy to sell my 4gb x360 for $303 (which I got) and saw this deal on the shelves.

They had the Nintendo Land w/ Green Luigi Wii U controller for $30 marked on clearance, this was just on sale a few days ago in the 'Deal of the Day' for $40 which was a okay price then.

$30 retail clearance (YMMV)

I asked if they would take off the 20% for GCU and they said sure (not even a blink) taking off $6.

$24 retail clearance w/ GCU (YMMV)

Price is not reflected online, definitely a YMMV deal but this was listed at $36 last week in store clearance so it's definitely an additional price-drop from before.    Some of you who grabbed the DOTD might be able to get a price-match if it's worth your time.

You got lucky because they did what they are not supposed to do. Gcu does not work on periphals or periphal bundles. So that is highly ymmv. And really should be in regional deals since this is your stores clearance not bestbuy clearance.

It was 42 on clearance last I check on Friday at my local store.
I know when the DOTD hit for $40 some, like myself, saw it for $36 days before normally. It's definitely something I'd call first b4 making a long trip.

I passed at $40 (didn't want the GCU hassle of getting it applied and $40 seemed to high) but at $30 it was a easy buy. Getting the $6 off it was just the bonus and SO easy when checking out.

I think these prices just changed today. Might be them flushing out the last of the stock after they pushed the DOTD.

GCU does work on Hardware bundles about 50% of the time. It's swung both ways on most of these in the past. It's depended on what bundle and seems to be universal across all Bestbuys. This bundle is def not applied to get the 20% off, it's a definite YMMV getting it to apply. Even so, $30 for the base price is a stellar deal in itself.

I got this bundle with 20% off by calling in. I also got the Just Dance Wiimote bundle for $28. Sold Just Dance for $20 to a coworker's wife so I think I did well.

How'd you get so much for your Xbox?
Bestbuy had a Trade-in Value mistake on the older 4gb 360 models. They paid out $303 w/ controller or $293 w/o. Deal was posted online last night, lasted for a short time b4 it was corrected to $61/59. I grabbed mine w/ Kinect 3 years ago for $100 on Walmart's Blackfriday deal.

Wow that's great! I wish I know about it earlier, there is absolutely no way in getting in that action now, is there?

I called and some locations near me have it for this price as well!  I really want to get it (mainly want the Mario/Peach/Luigi wiimotes) but I'm a bit hesitant to spend any more money until the fall releases come out.  Would anyone recommend it?

nintendoland is pretty lame unless you do a lot of multiplayer party style gaming, so its really a question of whether you really want a green remote or not.  if you only play first party wii u games and mostly solo, the motion+ controller is mostly useless and a pro controller is 1000x better.

the motion+ is great if you play a lot of older wii games or do a lot of multiplayer style games (wii fit, wii party, just dance, etc)

that said you can trade in nintendoland for like $10 at bb/gs and have a green motion+ pretty cheap, but then again if you don't actually use it on anything who cares

The younger ones love to play the Mario chase game and a few others. They're decent mini-games, but only one or two (like Zelda!) will keep you playing often. Buy it for the Wii Remote to make the game free and it's a no-brainer.

According to the mods on Unboxed forums, Nintendoland and games w/ pack-in peripherals DO qualify for 20% off GCU. It may not ring up properly at the register, but the store is supposed to have a system in place to correct this.

Sweet! Just saw one of these the other day and was thinking about snagging it -- the only issue is then I wouldn't have the box for the controller like the Mario & Peach ones... but I guess I can live with that ;)

And WOAH! About that $303 4gb trade-in, that's DOTY material right there!

There was only one place left in my city that had them so I gave them a call and it did ring up $29.99 so I picked one up. Gotta say thanks to the person who posted this deal. I really wanted this bundle.

I found 1 left at my local BB for 29.99 & had no problem getting them to apply GCU. I also picked one up during the DOTD do think they would price match it?

I had success at my BB, as well. Got my GCU discount, thanks to a friendly manager, and now I have a colorful new controller. Thanks to the OP for looking out.

Thanks op got my son this to add to his Mario one that game bundled with his MK8 WiiU for his bday. Now to return the copy of nintendo land to target that I got during the b2g1 free sale a few weeks ago.

Also my store had no trouble applying the GCU discount was I mentioned if not coming off originally.

haha oops... :wall: Thats awesome though!!

Got denied at customer service to apply GCU, I bought this bundle last week during DotD. Manager was telling me that it didn't apply because of reasons... He first said it didn't apply to bundles, so I showed him the just dance bundle, then he said it didn't apply to clearance, I told him to pick any other game on clearance and ring it up, (he didn't try any of this things by the way, he was just trhowing bullshit at me). He finally at the end told me that GCU only applies at the time of purchase and that I was unable to return my product because it was open, so I left with a fuck you face to the video game section.

I proceeded to buy one more bundle, explained the employee atthe register that the GCU should apply to it because of the reasons above, and he said it was cool, bought it for 23.99 + tax and returned it with my other receipt in the managers face.

Felt great :D

Did this earlier today at one of my local Best Buy's. I have GCU and they tried to not honor it, saying because the bundle was already on clearance.

I had to pull up that page that JBot posted earlier. Of course they honored it after they saw that! Lol. $25.xx after tax out the door!

Green is my favorite color and Luigi is one of my favorite Nintendo characters, so this was an easy one! =P

Lucky. :( I tried showing one of the clerks and the store manager the thread that JBot referenced, and they still kept on insisting that the 20% wouldn't stack because it was already on clearance. Ugh, seriously, how can they not even know that the GCU works on all new games, even games that are already discounted? :wall:

If it matters, I politely told them that they would need to do an override after showing them the page, lol. I even told them how much the difference would be, right down to the very last cent, including the tax! haha. They were looking surprised at each other like "How the hell did he know what it was going to be down to the very last cent?!?". I don't think they liked that! xD

you should of showed them this thread instead that a mod replied to today:

the 20% Gamers' Club Unlocked discount on new video game software should apply regardless of a title's sale status -- it doesn't matter if the game is a pre-order, part of our current inventory, or a clearance item

picked up the last one at the Manchester, NH Best Buy today as it was marked $29.99.   GCU didnt apply and they were initially hesitant to override it as they thought it didnt stack with clearance prices ( :wall: ) but after a few minutes was able to get it to go through.  For $24 this was an easy purchase!  Thanks again for the heads up OP!

Grabbed one yesterday but like others here, they refused the 20% off because it was "on clearance".  Anyone had any success calling BB's customer support after the purchase & getting an adjustment?

Others have easily had this done, just remember to reference the thread on the BBY forums that states that it should apply.

I actually went back and bought a 2nd set the other day, I'll trade in the second game for $5 next time I'm in. I'm surprised they only did 3 limited edition controllers (mario, peach, luigi) instead of having a 4th.

I knew better than to call on the weekend - you get the 'B' team. :whistle2:|

At first the guy told me to "wait until the points post from the purchase, then if it doesn't appear to call back".  I told him the 20% off was supposed to be taken at the register immediately at purchase.  He then puts me on hold for about 5 mins before telling me to return it & rebuy it at the store.

...

Woo-hoo! Got one in Arizona. There's like only two left in Phoenix as far as Best Buy is concerned. The guys had to pull them out of the back storeroom and wanted me to buy all three...sure...did I have, "Let me be your El Horado for the day" written on my face? Whatever. Just happy I got a remote and a game for $30. The site still shows $56.00 online so I would have ignored this without your help. Thanks OP.

Already have enough wiimotes and Nintendoland but for some reason in considering going in and trying to get this for $24 today
