Madden 15 standard edition for ~40.00 at bestbuy after pricematch and trade-in.

CAGiversary!
So tigerdirect.com has madden 25 for the xbox one at 17.97
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8509991

and for ps4 19.97.

what I did was buy two copies of madden 25 for xbox one at my local tigerdirect and the final cost was 39.17. (you can pricematch to bestbuy as they pricematch to tigerdirect.com)

then I took it next door to best buy still sealed and traded them both in (the current trade in value for madden 25 is $25/ea) and received a $50 giftcard and also the $10 off coupon for madden $15.

so madden 15 standard edition 59.99+tax-50.00gift card (your cost 39.17) +$10.00 off coupon = whatever your tax will be on 59.99.

Madden 25 was a bit cheaper than that at Target last week, but $40 isn't bad if you didn't get in on the Target deal. Also don't forget you get a $10 certificate for preordering at Best Buy.

... at my local tigerdirect...
Tigerdirect is primarily an internet-only retailer, that has about two dozen physical locations, mostly in Florida and Illinois. So, 90% of us won't have a "local" tigerdirect anyway.

Not seeing the deal here.

but bestbuy also price matches to tigerdirect.com so it should work everywhere.  it just so happens that i had one nearby

from their low price guarantee on their website  "At the time of sale, we price match all local retail competitors (including their online prices) and we price match products shipped from and sold by these major online retailers: Amazon.com, Bhphotovideo.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com, Newegg.com, and TigerDirect.com."

While I appreciate the thought, most people don't consider flipping as part of a "deal." Especially since I am willing to bet there were / are better flips than this out there that didn't deserve, nor did they get their own thread.

this what they call "bragging", by sticking it to the man, which happens to be bestbuy.

Are they still giving out the Madden 15 $10 off coupon with trade ins?
only if you trade in your games sealed like the op

Why people purposefully trade in sealed games always has mystified me.
They want to be able to return if the trade is rejected or doesn't work out for any reason (ban, system crash, etc.). It's silly, but it's not completely irrational. A few folks got burned by opening things and not being able to trade in during Target's triple trade promo after the mobile backend crashed.

true but flipping has always had the occasional risks so people just need to decide if the specific flips are worth the risk or not and go either all in or sit on the sidelines

right, but then you open it once you have confirmation that the trade-in deal is working.

What's the big deal?
If you've already been rejected, It's very unlikely they will just change their mind once you open it right in front of them after they told you you can't trade it, so it becomes a wasted trip to Best Buy and you have to come back later or go to a different store if you're lucky enough to have more than one.

Yes if you've been rejected you then return the game to the store. No harm done.
If you aren't rejected, then you open the game up and turn it in. No harm done.

I've seen them reject sealed trade ins before, but only for the fact the game is sealed and they can't prove a disc is inside, opening it lifts the rejection.

I don't get what your point is.

You're misunderstanding. You could easily get rejected for trying to trade in a sealed game and you would have to leave and come back later with it opened. I know for a fact that Gamestop's policy is to not take sealed games and they don't care if you open it once they have seen it was sealed when you brought it in. Best Buy likely has a similar policy, but they are very YMMV when it comes to trading because a lot of their employees are clueless when it comes to things like gaming trades or they just don't care. It wouldn't be surprising if things went the way you describe, but it also wouldn't be surprising if you were rejected because they don't know if your items are stolen or not and it's not worth the potential trouble. Most people open their games before they trade for this reason.

Having to prove there is a disc in your case doesn't make much sense. How many people would even have the means to professionally reseal a video game after they take the disc out and how many of those people would be dumb enough to attempt to scam Best Buy with it? Seems unlikely that they would even have a policy on that.

The point is that it's a YMMV situation, which is why most people don't attempt to trade in sealed games. You're more likely to get rejected for that than something like trade in system crashing, which was my original comment.

Why all the hate for this deal? Since the Target $15 off w/ preorder card expired last week and the 50% trade in bonus towards Madden at Walmart has not worked for anyone yet, this is the best price I have seen for the new Madden game. Maybe I am missing something, but if there is a better deal available at this point, I and others who have not yet preordered would appreciate you sharing it!
