"Expires Tuesday, September 30, 2014"

If the game doesn't ship before then, it will be cancelled.

Too bad I can't preorder most do these games...I probably would've bought Destiny PS4 but I can't preorder it. I wonder if they took the pre-order option down since it comes out 9/9.

I'm confused about how points work; do I get the points on release day or when I pre order?

Surprise surprise. The big releases aren't even available for preorder... Nice bait and switch, very similar to Best buy no stock in store tactic. I will try at store.

Destiny PS4/XONE are unavailable....The Xbox One was available like an hour ago or so. I think Destiny is one of the only titles that are applicable to this promo because your item has to ship before the coupon(s) expire.

This has nothing to do with bait and switch.

Everything was there when I posted. Looks like Kmart / Sears took off some soon after.

this is on slickdeals now, plus the fact that the $20 has been there a while so they are probably running out of the 50 copies they were allotted by their creditors.

Not as great of a deal, but I was able to snag Wolfenstein PS4 for $32.61 after $10 coupon, and was able to get $20.30 back in points. I didn't want to take a chance with pre-ordering from K-mart/Sears since that whole Titanfall pre-order nonsense...

Only 20K points shows up for me. Did it end yesterday? How long do you have, to use the points though?

So let me see if I've got everything straight here:

-the coupon for extra points from Facebook expires on Sept. 30.  If you use it to preorder something that releases after that, there's a good chance either your preorder will get canceled, or you won't get the points from the coupon.

-once you do get the points (when your item ships), they're good for two weeks. If you use them to preorder something that comes out later than that, again, you're probably looking at a cancellation.

So, if my plan is to use the Facebook coupon on Hyrule Warriors (releases Sept. 26), then use the $20 bonus from HW and the $20 bonus from the Facebook coupon for Smash Bros. 3DS (releases Oct. 3), I should be golden, right?

No because the $20 in points that expire on 9/30 won't wotk on Smash Bros. It will be too late by then, even if you preorder it then they will expire before the game ships.

There is no one true CAG. Some are more "gamer," some are more "cheap" and certainly some are far more "ass."

You're certain the points expire on Sept. 30, not the just the coupon itself?  Because the way I understand it bonus points always expire two weeks from when you get them. (Meaning for example if you used the coupon today for something in stock, they'd expire Sept. 16th.)

No, he said the Facebook coupon (expires 9/30) would be applied towards Hyrule Warriors (releases 9/26). Since that game comes with $20 in points already, those points plus the $20 in points he would get thanks to the Facebook coupon would be applied towards SSB 3DS releasing the following week. That $40 in points should be active for at least two weeks from Hyrule Warriors' release, so his plan should work.

I wouldn't hold my breath on any of these working out. The last two games I pre ordered, 5 copies of the last of us PS4 and 8 copies of madden 15 for PS4 and Xbox One never shipped! I ordered them each on separate orders and used coupons to get even more bonus points. Out of 13 games, I ended getting one copy of the last of us. After two weeks of back and forth emailing and calling, I gave up and cancelled my orders. Still waiting for any information on Madden over a week after they should have arrived. I made a BBB complaint, for the last of us and got no were and just today another on for madden

I am not expecting this to go anywere, I just want to let other customers know what they are in for if they have any issue! I am now ordering from Best Buy. They have better (still not good) customer service, but when I pre order, I always get the game on time!

Now I'm not 100% on this, but the points you get back from the coupon ($20) may not expire as soon as the pre-order bonus points.  Regular and bonus points I earn from SYWR usually last a while for me.  I have 9000 points that have been sitting in my account for a while and a notice that 300 of them expire in 2015.

Again, the promo points for the game itself last two weeks. Pretty much all other types last a year unless otherwise specified. Oh I have made many orders with Kmart involving bonus points over the past couple years. Not a single issue with cancelled orders and they always shipped the day before release(one I even got before release day, a blu ray movie though). So no not everyone has problems here, though many here do and are vocal about it.

Anywho thanks for the link to the coupon, OP!

I sent them an email asking for clarification on the Facebook coupon, and they said you've got til the 30th to use it, but once you do, the points it gives you are good for a year. Operation Free Smash Bros. is a go. (Which is good, because I was just planning to wait for the Wii U version until they announced the soundtrack offer on Club Nintendo. :p )

EDIT: for reference:

Dear [my email redacted],

Thank you for contacting Shop Your Way Rewards regarding your program question.

We do apologize for the confusion this may have caused you. This offer is indicating when the coupon itself expires, not when the points earned from it are to expire. Most points earned from coupon offers are available for a full year before they are set to expire. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

Once again, thank you so much for contacting us and being a Shop Your Way Rewards member. We value your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

Sincerely,

Caitlin S.

Subject: clarification on Facebook coupon

I've seen conflicting explanations on sites like Cheapassgamer and
Slickdeals about this, so I thought I should write in and ask for
official clarification.  The offer in question:

https://www.facebook...934698423223382

...says it expires September 30.  Is that when the points would
expire, or is that the last chance to use the coupon, and the points
gained from using it expire when they normally would?  In other words,
as long as I redeem the coupon before September 30, will I be able to
use the points from it on an item that doesn't ship til early October?

Thank you.

This sounds good to me. Thank you for sharing this and going through the process to clarify it. Now to decide if I want to wait on destiny or use the points on something else. I also have a $10 birthday code that expires on sept 30th and not sure if I can stack these or not.

They will not ship the game, so will you not get the points. I had 6 last of us for PS4 and 1 shipped. I had 8 madden 15 pre ordered, and zero have shipped two weeks later.  I have 8 destiny and zero have shipped, yet it is supposed to arrive Tuesday? These will not ship either and I loose out all the bonus points. Kmart sucks! I have made BBB cases, and they even blow them off. Now I am going to write a letter to the CEO and complain about poor service and not getting what I order. I wouldn't think the COE would like to here someone buying so many games is not being helped!

Save yourself some time and pre order Best Buy or another store with a bonus. I have started that on the future games, but on these I used bonus copuons, so I hate to loose out 30,000 bonus points per title.

My Destiny game hasn't shipped yet, here's hoping it does soon. They've got the Gold Headset listed as Out of Stock right now but if it comes back in stock it'd be $40 after using my points which is pretty sweet. I sent them an email about availability for the headset so hopefully it becomes available by the time I get my points, fingers crossed...

I'm still waiting on Madden for PS4 to ship and Destiny is still processing as well.  I placed both orders quite long ago when the pre-order bonuses first appeared in spring.   I called twice about Madden and both times they said they did not have it in stock despite the website saying its currently available for shipping.  I hate to cancel my order because I got both games for $100 total with $60 in points back but my patience is starting to run thin.

Goddamit, how hard is it to not screw up things like this Kmart?

My first foray into online pre-ordering with Kmart was with Watch Dogs, which was cancelled (but still pending?) due to my using points.  Ok, my fault for not quite understanding the ridiculousness of SYWR points.  This time I didn't use any points, but my Destiny pre-order, while it hasn't been `cancelled,' is also still pending shipment. =(

Mine says the same. I chatted with a kmart rep (for what its worth) and was told that it would ship out in the next couple of days. When pre ordering from Kmart, don't expect to receive it near release date.
