PS4 Infamous Second Son Flash Sale PSN

Its really not worth going digital on this game, you finish in under 20 hours and there isn't much of a reason to do more than 2 or maybe 3 playthroughs - game doesn't change much and its pretty easy at even the hardest setting.  It is definitely a decent game, but not really the kind you are going to say 2 years from now "man, its time to go replay some infamous SS!"

I wish they put out a GOTY disc edition though with SS and the DLC on one disc, i'd buy that in stores and then trade it in when I'm done.

I'm a huge fan of the first two inFamous games, but even I have to agree with you on Second Son. The game was clearly rushed to launch, not so much in terms of technical issues, but content. Way shorter than the first two.

Anyone able to offer a review for First Light? I'm looking for a short but fun game . I've played a bit of Second Son, but not all of it.

Am I the only person who likes this game <_<
I liked it, but the first two games were far superior. I beat the game twice, got the platinum and that was it, there was obviously nothing else to do. I'd say it's worth $30 or less, but like I said, you'll want to sell it as there's not much to do once it's over.

It's an entertaining enough game but I think my price point would have to be $20-25 max due to lack of extra content.

I mean you can waste time hunting all the drug busts and graffiti art if you wanted.

More replayability in First Light because it has the arena score attack mode. I loved Second Son, but it's more of a play once kind of game.

Thanks, but I wiill definitely wait for the $20.00 mark on this one. Just havent heard very good things about this one. Everyone I know that has played it says its definitely the weakest Infamous title to date.

It's a really good game, but the story was blah. A real technical marvel as well, the best looking game I've played.
Really? I thought the graphics were just okay. Killzone looked better but it played like watching paint dry. RYSE looks a lot better as well. Heck, I'll go so far to say Tomb Raider, Battlefield 4, NBA 2K14, TLoU Remastered and even Destiny look a lot better.

Price isn't that good and Cole's Legacy is still not for sale on the PSN. :wall:
Cole's Legacy was such a total disappointment. If you go in with any sort of expectations you will be burned. I bought the Limited Edition just for that DLC and it definitely wasn't worth it.

i would get your eyes checked.

TR is an up-rez and it showed. NBA2K14 looks good, but c'mon. BF4, LMAO. TLOU:R and Destiny sure.

Say what you will about the game, but I:SS was one of the first games where my wife stopped and watched, and was like "wow, this game looks different" (till that point, she basically saw the ps4 as equivalent to the ps3)

I liked the game, but everytime you'd get a new power and it showed him doing his O face thingy, the screen would go near black. It did that on the Vita I had as well as my 55" Bravia. I didn't think the graphics were bad at all, but nowhere NEAR the best. And yeah, I guess it was better than BF4.

It's a meh game. Another accidental B-movie. The franchise just lives in the shadow of Uncharted forever. Wasn't even worth a second playthrough for me.

The only console games out now that are on the same level graphically as SS are KZ & Ryse. Looking at the rest of your suggestions I also agree that you shoud get your eyes checked.

Was going to jump on this since the only game I have on my ps4 is metal gear and I've been wanting to get this and/or watchdogs but everyone keeps saying how bad they both are. Guess my ps4 will still be used watching movies.

SS isn't a bad game by any means; it's just much shorter than the first two. If ~12-20 hours of gameplay for two playthroughs is worth $40 to you, go for it.

It was enjoyable enough for me to 100% the map. I never do that in games and never finished the previous two.

Gamefly has it used for $25.
^This. The PSN deal isn't particularly all that great.

Infamous SS is not a bad game per se. It is probably the best looking PS4 game to date. Seattle looks absolultely gorgeous but the world feels a bit empty and hollow. I had more fun playing the 1st Infamous than this one. Also the main character/story didn't do it for me. That said, Infamous SS was fun enough for me to complete the good version 100%. IMO it was a solid 8-8.5. The game is likely candidate for PS+ way down the road (or at least I hope so).

Yeah, although I enjoyed my time with SS overall, it most definitely was a letdown. It was certainly rushed which means much less content than there should have been. You don't even get to really use the last power until after you beat the game, and that (rock) power is so lame. Seems like they just added this fourth simply so they can put on the game box "Four powers!"

Hopefully they actually try on the next one.

too many squeaky wheels. I:SS and W_D both provided me with a lot of entertainment. I:SS is a more crafted experience (it's open world, but it's really pretty linear), W_D is more open but you can get lost just doing side missions..(so fun).

First Light is downright amazing. Lots of content for $15. Fetch is a better character than Delsin, her powers are more fun, the story was amazing, and the arena mode is hella fun.

Get it.

Wait, people think Second Son is the worst of the series? The first inFamous was pretty bad, and the second was fairly mediocre. I found Second Son to be the best of the series and a joy to play. I had to slog through the first two games.

If you dont care for the Battle Arena mode (I certainly don't), then wait for a price drop because the story itself can be completed in only 4 hours, including collectibles. Unless you think 4hrs for $15 is a good deal, then wait for the inevitable sale/price drop.

Story also has more effect if you have completed SS.

I'm also hoping it will be one of the first retail PS+ games in the Instant Game Collection.
Now that would be nice and I could actually see it happening with this title, given the overall luke warm reception it recieved in the gaming community. I would imagine that its long term viability in the market is really questionable at best so this would be a perfect title to bring into the PS+ IGC. Sony really needs to focus more on retail games like this as I haven't been impressed with PS+ at all the last 6 months. Way too many smaller/indie games and not enough retail games. The last high quality months I can remember were January and February. So all the more reason why this would make a great IGC title.

Get your eyes checked.

Ryse is actually 900p upscaled to 1080p.
TLOUR, while looks great, doesnt come near Second Son. You can check this yourself since both games have photo mode. The level of detail in SS cannot be topped. Destiny looks a lot better? lol.

Like everyone said, get your eyes checked.

Game was REALLY fun, but I think I finished 100% (all side missions...first time ever in a game like this) in probably like 20 hours or less.

The only thing I passed on was completing the Paper Trail missions.....did a few, then stopped when I traded it back in.

Decided to get SS since I'm not looming for a super long game since I don't play much with two kids under 5 and working full time.

Yes, Ryse is 900p upscaled and its still EASILY one of the best looking titles released to date on both the PS4 and XBox One. People and thier numbers, lol. The VAST majority of the population can't even tell the difference between 1080p and 720p, let alone 900p and 1080p. Many of the people that can tell a difference, still can't tell a difference due to sitting too far away from their HDTV's. With a 50" screen, you have to sit closer than 10 feet to see the difference between 1080p and 720p, and that is someone that has 20/20 vision. A LOT of people out there have less than perfect vision, which only makes it that much more difficult to see the difference. People with 20/30 would have to sit roughly 5 feet away from a 50" screen to see the difference between 1080p and 720p. I can only imagine what the numbers would be for 1080p and 900p. Someone with 20/20 vision would have to sit like 3-5 feet away to see the difference, on a 50" screen, lol.

I'm an architectural photographer and I would estimate that at least 75% of the living rooms I see, and I have seen a LOT, the HDTV is too far away from the seating to be able to tell the difference between 1080p and 720p. Actually, its probably close to 85%-90%. People don't need to get thier eye's checked, you just need to learn something about the topic itself. You clearly havent played Ryse yet. If you had, you would recognize just how ridiculous the whole 900p comment really is.

Of course, I am sure you will try and tell everyone that you can tell the difference betwee 900p and 1080p at normal viewing distances and some people may actually buy it. I don't, not for one second. In all honesty, this whole resolution nonsense is just like the megapixel war that took place with digital cameras. You had photographers arguing that a particular camera was better becasue it had a higher megapixel count, even tho that resolution would never actually be seen unless a print that was literally 3 feet in size was created, lol. In the end, these types of numbers comments really show one thing and one thing only, that the people making such comments really just have no clue what they are talking about.

$40 is still a little too much for me, and i assume the most of you feel the same way considering the website we're on. i think my magic price for this game is closer to $15. it looks very cool, but if it's like infamous 2, it will be much more worth it for the price i mentioned. it will take time, but it can't stay full price forever.

if you're really itching to play infamous, you're probably better off getting first light for $15 like i did.
