$50 XBOX gift card when you buy an XBOX One (Valid 9/5-9/15)

I wonder if this can stack with the $100 giftcard for trading in a PS3 or 360? That would tie the Gamestop PS4 trade in deal.

 
I'm also curious if this stacks with the trade in program. Might trade in the my original 360 elitle towards a XB1.

Yes i did..... So what? I returned it like two day later at BestBuy told them i wasn't happy with the purchase and didn't like the console and wanted a refund.

But you left out the detail about taking a valuable item for keeps? "So what?" So unethical. Same thing as slipping discs out of game cases and bundles and then returning it. It's stealing.

Exactly, it isn't free, it is included with purchase. If you return the purchase, you should return the items that came with it. It gets a little mushy with digital items that you can't return once redeemed, though. If you buy the console with the intention of keeping it, redeem the download, then decide that you don't want to keep the console, that is one thing - if you buy it with the intention of redeeming the download and returning the console, that is something else.

Also, according to the link, the $50 GC is specific to Microsoft stores. If that is the case, can the OP or a mod update the title. If it turns out to be multiple retailers (sometimes these things start out just listing one, but end up being pretty widespread), you can change it back.

Major Nelson also posted on his blog that Sep. 7 through the 13 that you would get a free retail disc game upto 59.99 in value at participating retailers... I am willing to bet the Microsoft Store is one of them ;)

EDIT: With the purchase of an Xbox One console, Titanfall Bundle, etc... Included. Not valid toward preorders though

If this stacks with the free game offer from Microsoftstore's it seems like it would be a very good time to buy an Xbox One.

Get the Madden or Forza 5 bundle for $400/$500 and you can then get a free game and a $50 Xbox Card. Would end up making the systems roughly $300/$400 after you value the items and you'll also have the Madden/Forza code you can sell.

 
Had a friend out in KC try this at the Microsoft store not too long ago and the store manager wasn't aware of the $50 GC.
Traded in his PS3 and is holding off till Tuesday for a free game.
BTW he was told the $50 GC is not through the MS store.

He was doing it in a sneakier way until his ego outstripped his brain and he decided to let us all know how sneaky he thinks he is. ;) It's shoplifting, plus somewhere along the way, that store will end up eating a copy of Titanfall because some people think they're so sneaky to nab a copy of Titanfall on the down-low.

So I'm confused -- is the $50 bonus XBL card a thing next week at MS stores or not? I remember seeing a Target ad suggesting that target is having that deal on top of the free game. I'll get my xbox from there instead if MS stores aren't doing the deal.

i never said bestbuy would match it. i meant microsoft store only to match their online store. this whole xbox $50 card is exclusive to microsoft store. which the op should make it clear in the title of the post. that is why some posters should never post deals on here

Deal does indeed stack with the free game.  It's even advertised as "free game AND $50 gift card" when you buy an Xbox One.

 
Again, If you have the Ibotta app you could get another $10 back from MS store purchase. Asks you stuff like what MS products you like, bam $5 and tweet about it for another $5.

Edit: So I installed the app, did all the stuff and generated the link in my email, but the email I registered in the app is different from the email I use for the MS Store. I'm not really following how they follow up on my purchase. Can you explain how it works and how I can make sure I get the credit?

Looks like they changed this promo. When you click the microsoft card it should list how to claim. You would've had to order it through their referral link. Maybe you can try going through the motions have them send you the link.  Click the link for good measure. And then contact them about it you having your merch but not your cashback. 

 
It seems the extra $50 (online at least) only applies to "select" bundles. 

Unfortunately the cheapest bundle that mentions it is $599 with Forza 5, Kinect, and "play and charge" kit. The others range up to $799 and it seems they are charging full MSRP for everything added. Not really a deal at all for those particular bundles. 

The regular console and the Madden bundle do NOT include the $50 bonus. Unless I'm missing something, the $50 bonus is useless online from MS store. Free game promo is still a solid deal, but Best Buy seems the way to go for me. (because you get 2 year GCU, and also I assume you can choose Destiny as free game whereas MS Store doesn't list that one as an option). 

 
Nevermind. I see the $50 bonus on the Madden bundle and $399 base console on the main promo page. But it doesn't show in my cart when I add the console and free game? How does the $50 bonus arrive - via email?

If the $50 bonus is legit, this becomes a very solid deal. Tough call between this and best buy.

I called about this deal at my Local White Plains, NY MS store last Friday. I was told the $50 credit, would not apply with the free game offer as far as they were told, but he wasn't completely sure. I also will be trading in my xbox 360 arcade to get an extra $100 off.

 
Well the website seems to list the $50 GC with the free game but at checkout I do not see any indication the $50 GC is part of my cart.  Plus Destiny is currently not part of the free game list.  If I could have both those and use the $50 I already got for doing trades at MS then I would have purchased it right then but for now I guess I am waiting.
