GCU has never been applicable on hardware only bundles.  Good luck with getting it applied.

thanks for the feedback guys, I've been in the market for a new console, and I was hoping this would compare to the xbox one deal going on now.

 
GCU wont count on this, in any way. Its an okay bundle.

you need to add it to your cart to see the sale price. Elite gets shipping free. I, however would do in store p/u to have them apply GCU.

You guys must have some really incompetent or at the least carefree employees if they are willing to apply GCU to a console. Out of curiosity, what exactly are you going to tell them to get them to apply the GCU discount seeing how it is only meant to work on disc versions of new and used games, not gaming hardware or bundled consoles.

I'm pretty sure the OP is referring to the free GCU subscription with the purchase of a console, not apply a discount to the console. He just didn't explain it well.

If you are Elite+ I'd try this in store and put together all these items in your basket, plus a GCU blue card, and see how much it rings up as.  If its $499 thats a pretty good deal.  Best Buy DOTDs don't usually show the correct price on the racks and usually aren't shown in store anywhere, but 90% of the time they will ring up as the online price when you actually checkout.

Even better would be ringing up the Destiny PS4 bundle, White wireless headset, 1 year PS+, and GCU membership and see if it zeros out the cost of the PS+ (what this bundle is essentially doing).  I suspect it will NOT so you'd have to cancel before you actually pay, but if it does thats a pretty good deal too.

 
This deal shouldn't work in store unless you get an override. It is part of an elite+ and elite 2 day early access event(online only promotion).
