I've been playing it this past week. It's definitely a Natsume game. Lots of story events to trigger, and the game isn't always helpful on what to do to trigger events. At around 12 hours in, I finally went to look up a guide. Hopefully with the guide I can move through the game faster. At the rate I'm going, I think it would take 50 hours to beat the game. I can understand why it got low scores. It's charming, but it can be pretty frustrating trying to figure out what to do to make things move along.

So around 20 hours in, using an online guide extensively, my desire to play the game has dramatically diminished. It's not cool that everything is so specifically triggered that without a guide, you could just wander around the village indefinitely, swap items in and out of your shop, hoping for something to happen, wondering if time just needs to pass, if certain people need to come to your shop, if you need to visit certain homes and locations -- OR WHAT THE HELL WILL

I think I'm done with it. I might try to play it one more time to see if there is still interest. I should probably just trade it on.

I like Natsume style games, the hero looks like the guy from Ape Escape though.
