So my son is going as Link this year for Halloween and he needed a shield so we made one! It's made out of foam core with acrylic paint. The "bolts" are little wooden discs. The shield is even curved properly although you can't really tell from the crappy cell phone pic. Entire project was less than $10 and only took about 3 hours if I add up the time spent since I basically freehanded everything. It has been ages since I did any sort of project but I thought I'd share...

Thanks everyone! That's exactly what we are doing today. I'm headed out to home depot to get some adhesive backed hooks an this sucker is going right above his bed.
