CAG,

I'm probably going to be picking up a second X1 here in the next couple weeks.  My question is basically getting two copies of digital games for one.  I have two 360's and I buy digital games on one XBox with my main gamertag, then I sign in as the account that bought it to the second one and basically get it twice.

Will this work the same on the X1?  Does the home console setting have any affect on this?  I assume it has something to do with it?  I've read a couple things online but still don't quite understand what it's doing?

Anybody out there understand or have been doing something similar with two X1's?

Thanks

Well, from what I understand if you set one console to the home console anything downloaded to that console can be played without the real owners gamertag signed in. The other console would obviously have to be singed in to use the content. You might be able to share gold too, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

check that thread out

While I wouldn't do it personally because of a grey area, but if you do it in your own home I don't see a problem with it.

In case anyone is interested I got my 2nd X1 and found out some interesting things.  You can share XBox Live Gold on your home console as well.  So my current setup is one X1 is set to home and this is the console I shared Live Gold on and bought COD:AW.  My son can use his account to play the game and get on live.

I sign onto my other X1 as the account that has gold and downloaded the game again and we can both play together online with different accounts.  That is pretty sweet.

Two levels into Advanced Warfare and I'm liking the story so far.  Pretty fun.

yeah the "home console" thing makes things a lot easier than on 360. On the 360, it was tied to the first xbox and the profile, but now its just always tied to the "home console" and the profile.

Basically, you don't have to worry about buying a game on the 2nd xbox first, and then redownloading it for yourself. The moment you set the 2nd xbox as your "home console", anything you got digitally (including games with gold & ea access) is now being shared with anyone on that xbox.

It's also nice because you don't have to be signed in on the 2nd xbox to start the download, because it's the home console.

I'm in a similar situation where I got a second X1 for my son. Is there a way to prevent him from downloading some of the more mature games like Ryse, or COD:AW that I already own digitally?
