Walmart - Save Your Receipts! ***SAVINGS CATCHER***FREE MONEY

Briankbl

CAGiversary!
So Walmart recently started their "Savings Catcher" program. Go to their website, enter the TC number on the receipt(or scan the QR code or regular barcode via the Walmart app). Walmart will price match items on your receipt with competitors and if they find any cheaper prices, they will give you the difference back via Walmart eGiftcard to use on their site. I work at Walmart, so I find receipts left behind all the time that would otherwise just be thrown away. If you find them, save them. I'm up to around $18 in several days.

After you've finished your Black Friday shopping, you might want to spend part of your day just hanging out in the Walmart parking lot lol. It's free money after all. Otherwise, the receipts just get thrown away. Use them!

Hope this helps somebody!

Yup, that's correct!

Highly doubt I could get fired. No one ever said we couldn't do this. Besides, all they see on the camera would be me taking receipts, no proof I'm actually using the receipts for the above program as my Walmart.com account is under a different name.

I'd much rather not shop at Walmart and save money to begin with.

If someone is redeeming multiple receipts a day, all originating from the same store, that's definitely going to raise some flags. And yes, you can get fired over something like this and it wouldn't be too hard for them to catch you, different names or not. All they need to do is compare the transaction times on the redeemed receipts and check the tapes around those times to see who's taking them.

We get thousands of customers a day. When my store first opened, we were the largest Walmart in the U.S. Trust me, our store most likely sees tons and tons of receipts registered online. Also, you can only enter 7 receipts into the system per week, so no one can ever overdo it and look suspicious. There's nothing at all to tip anyone off. So again, trust me, I'm fine.

ANYWAYS...lol

Back on topic. Enjoy the deal. Hope this thread has helped some people out!

What is it with you guys? Lol. This topic is about Walmart Savings Catcher, not my job security. I'm fine. Now please, can we get back on topic?

Alright to try to get back on topic. I had a slip where I bought something that they had price matched when I bought it when Savings Catcher first started. I scanned my slip in and waited for a few days and it came back error. I assumed it was because of the price match at the register, but I have no idea for sure.

To the people saying he can get fired, I worked for Walmart and they Do. Not. Care. At. All.

If they did this system wouldn't be in place and would never check their tapes for some guy cleaning up "trash" in the parking lot if anything he'll get a raise for being a good emplyee by making their store look good.

And I must say thank you to Mr. Lambert as I forgot they were doing this.

I did my slips and so far I got $0.54 lol gotta start somewhere :)

Thanks, just helping out! I found a receipt yesterday that read Keuger (whatever that coffee brand is lol) for $10.11, somewhere around there. Got $4.99 back on it! That's my biggest return on a single item so far.

First off, thank you for posting this, Brian. This is a really cool application and can be useful to those who miss deals and aren't always privy to price matching beforehand.  Price matching is arguably the better deal, as it saves you cash instead of you getting a giftcard back.

However, and not to hop on the bandwagon here, but the way you're using this app is against the terms and definitely could get you in trouble.  I've worked in retail for 11 years and at the place I'm currently at, several individuals have been fired for falsely accumulating reward points that are actually valued at way less than what you've accumlated just in the last few days.

From the terms and conditions under savings catcher "Walmart reserves the right to prohibit any individual from using the Walmart Savings Catcher for any reason, including for....engaging in any fraudulent or inappropriate acts, including by submitting ineligible receipts to the Walmart Savings Catcher."

Just giving you the heads up, man.  Be careful.

Thanks, but the quote you gave doesn't apply to what I'm doing. These receipts aren't fraudulent, they're real. They're eligible.

So..........again..........can we PLEEEAAASE keep this on topic?

I've also worked for Walmart and I've witnessed the contrary. They may not care about some things, but when an employee is defrauding the company for personal gain, you better believe they care.

And the OP keeps saying he's not breaking the rules, but this part of the terms of use states otherwise:

What you are doing is explicitly against the terms of use and therefore your participation is fraudulent.

Okay, I'm about to close this thread. I was trying to be helpful and inform you guys of a great deal and certain people have chosen to completely derail it.

ONE LAST ATTEMPT TO GET THIS BACK ON TOPIC, THEN I'M DONE...
And we are just trying to be helpful and inform you that you might lose your job
For the last time, I won't. Thanks for your concern. I'm leaving the topic. Bicker about off topic things amongst yourselves. Later.

P.S. To those that DID stay on topic, or were helped by this deal, thanks for taking part.

I've asked my manager about this today (To protect myself just encase) and he didn't give one fuck, his words were "It is not considered Shrinkage and if the slip is on the ground it is considered trash and is fair game to whoever wants it if it is outside."

Also I'm not doing anything, the slips I submitted were my own I haven't found any slips from other transactions.

But the terms of use, as shown in my post above, specifically prohibit ANYONE from using "found" receipts. Your manager may not have a problem with it now, but I bet he will if a shitstorm comes down on him from up above store level about his employees claiming customer receipts for personal gain. And knowing many Walmart managers, they will throw anyone under the bus as necessary to save their own asses.

Also, little known fact: If you call the Walmart Electronics Payment Hotline, they can look up your receipt for you if you happen to lose it if you paid with credit/debit. If one of these customers were to do that in order to return their purchase and they get shorted because of the DC refund, you'd be fuck ed if they investigated. While that may never happen, I sure as hell would value my job over the extra couple bucks of Walmart credit you may get per week doing this.

One must ask why do you care so much about what Brian is doing?

And I've already told you the slips I redeemed were mine not anyone elses so why do you keep bringing up the terms of use?

I'm not trying to be hostile here but you are beating a dead horse.

I never said that you were doing anything like the OP, but I was responding to the point that you made about your manager not caring.  I was simply pointing out that he may not care now, but if corporate were to catch wind of what the OP is doing, I'd bet they would investigate.

I worked for the company for some time, and know people who still do and management may tell you one thing, off the record, but if it turns out they were wrong, you better believe they aren't going to own up to it.

And my problem with the OP?  He joined here just to brag and to advocate shithead behavior that belongs on Slickdeals.  Then again, CAG has become an SD sewage overflow the past few years.

But whatever, i'm done and unsubscribing to this thread.

if you're submitting multiple receipts that have different payment methods registered to different people that is... kind of a red flag... and easy enough to track.

I know employees have gotten fired from Kmart for using their SYWR account in transactions where the customer didn't have one so that they could earn the SYWR points.

It's very easy to track things in a digital age. If one even one receipt was yours... it would most likely have your empolyee ID number right? You don't think they're going to wonder why you've registered other receipts that aren't yours?

It's Walmart after all... employees get fired for much less. I would not be surprised to see employees lose their job for doing what you're doing.

But I mean... unemployment is so low and the skillset required is so high that I wouldn't worry either

I avoid Wal-Mart the best I can but sometimes even I must shop there. So for that I thank you for the heads up about this app.

I just wanted to bump this because I just got an email then mentions Wal-Mark will be removing things from the savings catcher (Didn't take to long)

The email states

" Beginning February 14, 2015, we are removing some departments consisting mostly of items that do not have a like for like match at other retailers, such as produce and bakery items. Additionally, we are limiting our comparisons to offers of other mass market retailers, grocery and dollar stores, removing comparisons with drug stores."

Removing comparisons with drug stores might be a bit of a hit to people in the heath aisles Also noticed the vague use of the word consisting mostly

Just wanted to give others a heads up as the Savings Catcher is slowly going in the wrong direction.

Wanted to edit my post because I just had a slip come back a moment ago where I got money back on a box of cereal from Wall-greens so it sucks that that is going to be taken away soon.

No surprise there. It's standard operating procedure to make a great program to draw in customers then to quietly chip away at it, hoping customers don't notice. Thanks for the warning.

Yeah, that sucks because I'd say about half of my price matches were from drug stores (Walgreens, CVS, etc.).

Honestly, I have submitted about 20 receipts (Does that mean I'll be fired from a job I don't have? ZOMG! Suspicious!) and have only saved about $4.

Then again, 99% of my purchases are either grocery or electronics, and electronics are ineligible.

We normally do 2 large grocery trips a month before February we were getting $15-$20 back a month since $4-$7 back. Taking out Drug stores killed this.

I knew this thing would probably be useless. Like hell that company is going to actively try and find deals to give you free money to use at their stores. Everything I've ever submitted got nothing and I know at least a few of them things went on sale within the timeframe that you'd expect a reward credit. I don't do a lot of grocery shopping there though, so maybe that's where this incentive really pays off but as for everything else waste of your time doing it.

Cool, never heard of it until now. Probably cause I don't shop wal-mart online. I regularly in-store shop at wal-mart for groceries and supplies a few times a week, so I will give it a try for 1 month, however, if I don't see any cash back, then I will stop until I move back to California, and try it again, cause I'm in Hawaii now, and wal-mart doesn't have as much competition here.

What kind of stuff are you buying? General groceries like food, toilet paper, towels, etc or other things? I did this for awhile but never saw a cent back so I just said to hell with it.
