The CEO who was in charge of the company that owned the Upper Big Branch mine in West Virginia when it exploded in 2010, killing 29 miners, has been indicted the Justice Department. The company had been warned time and time again to upgrade and implement safety precautions, but it never did due to really lax enforcement of mining regulations.

The Republican-led Congress will probably call for Holder (and his successor) to call off the attack, as this job creator is being demonized by the liberal media.

The sentence he was given indicates not only how weakly we pursue white-collar crime in the US, but enhances that the risk was worth it. 10 days in jail? Zounds.

The articles I'm reading don't go into detail about his sentence, only that if fully convicted he'll get 31 years. 25 of those years involve lying to investors, the six are for the deaths. He's not worried. He's already bought enough political capital.

I'm pretty sure all the workers that died were probably republicans and right leaning voters anyways....  Those who vote against themselves and others cause somehow they think it works for everyone benefit.

Does that justify that it was ok they died, not...

But like anything republicans care about themselves as much as a roaches care if its a cannibal

How many people died installing solar panels or building solar cells.... just saying

But those are greeny energy and run by those damn socialist who are all about free love and sharing and caring for others, YUCK who wants that.   Who wants to build things in a safe environment, I rather dig the earth and use things where the cost/benefit ratio is only in $$$$ but not in the whole social/world cost.  A cost that has not FIAT value

Apologies - I confused this case with the Texas Prosecutor who deliberately withheld evidence, resulting in a wrongful conviction (and death sentence).

Sorry, not the only time this week where I found myself disgusted with what people do. The sentencing in this case is open and, yep, can be much greater.

Most likely they were Democraps. Generally speaking, the only mines that pay worth a shit are union mines, and unions pretty much try to force you to vote for Communists.
