Toys R Us Canceling "3 for $30" Amiibo Orders

RyanConnect

CAGiversary!
I ordered my 3 Amiibo's yesterday when the deal went live and today I got this email:

"Thank you for shopping at Toysrus.com and Babiesrus.com.

We regret to inform you that we were unable to complete your order.

If you have any further questions, please contact our Guest Service Team at 1-800-TOYSRUS (869-7787). Your satisfaction is very important to us, and we are more than happy to assist you."

I got Fox, Samus and Mario and paid with Paypal. I have no idea why it was canceled as these Amiibo's are available while typing this and they gave me no reason. This will be the THIRD time Toys R Us has screwed me over on a pre-order. Watch out for cancellation emails.

I really hope no one else has to experience this and that they can get this cleared up.

UPDATE: TRU got back to me and said they have been experiencing problems with orders using PayPal, so that seems to be the culprit as of now.

In for 10!

Seriously, this is not a deal, and the main page is not a message board.

Find the TRU topic of your choice and post it in there.  It gets worse when your title states that TRU is cancelling orders when as far as you know yours is the only one cancelled.

Shut up with this shit. Not everything needs to be a deal. PSA are welcomed.

How is this not a deal? I pay $31.95 after state sales tax for 3, or, I can go to any other retailer and pay around $38.34 for 3. I save $6.39 for 3, or, I can purchase all 12 first rounders and save $25.56. Again, how is this not a deal?
Does it really need to be explained to you?

There is already a thread from yesterday focusing on this deal; they're referring to the fact that the OP created a thread about his order getting cancelled-- which isn't a deal.

I personally don't mind PSAs or warnings when a concerning issue is looming, but as far as we know OP is the only person who had their order cancelled, and we don't even know why. It would have been nice to check in with others in the various amiibo/toys r us threads to see if it isn't an isolated case before making a thread.

Honestly what the fuck is up with all the non deal posts in the deals thread. Normally I find some of them funny but it has been pretty crazy lately.

This thread isn't about the deal. It's about the OP's order being cancelled. It's an informational post and is not a deal. The thread needs to be locked or merged into a thread about the deal instead. If everyone that ever had an order canceled posted a new thread about it this board would be cluttered something awful. I wish people would just stop and think for 10 seconds about whether their informational post was actually useful to someone else before they posted. If he thought about it logically, then the OP would have realized that he probably ordered way after the deal was originally posted and likely had his order cancelled due to supply shortages. That's not worth posting a new thread about it. Now if they were canceling the deal then it would be worth posting, but even then it should be in the deal thread not a separate post.

In short, the effort is there but it's really a worthless post in the end. Thanks for being concerned for everyone else OP, but you really didn't need to take up thread space for it.

You make great points and I do agree with you. I did check in with other threads and other sites and you are right, I am the only person I've heard of having this problem. I contacted Toys R Us to see why they cancelled and they themselves couldn't tell me why they cancelled. That seemed pretty scary to me so I wanted to alert others as fast as possible in case the Toys R Us system cancelled their items too, so that they'd have time to re-order or rectify their cancelled orders.

Hey, I don't blame you for getting worried. Toys R Us sometimes has terrible customer service and their online orders can be a joke, and I wouldn't put it past them to cancel large amounts of orders on a whim or mistake.

People are just a little touchy because lately there have been a shitload of people posting random threads and neglecting deals and treating this forum like their Facebook page.

If this was a bigger issue, no one would be mad at you creating a thread about it. It's good to get confirmation on stuff like this, though, even if our emotions cause us to react irrationally.

Very good call. I looked around the site to see where I could "properly" place the PSA, but there really isn't a PSA section on the site so I placed it here. I just love this site and all the deals people helped me with, and if I could potentially help others I wanted to do that. I know it's not the best place and I know others are bothered by the PSA and they have a right to. If I could place this post in a better section I would do so.
