Extra $10 credit on every 5 trades at Gamestop! (PUR/YMMV)

It is part of this month's PUR PRO offers.

To bad all the games I do want to trade in only have values around $0.50

If only they didn't add that fine print :(

So if I trade in 5 games at Gamestop, I'll get $11 instead of $1?! Oh boy oh boy oh boy!

I love keeping all my games, but Gamestop doesn't even try to entice me to change my mind on that.

This is good if you want to move best buy credits to GameStop. Buy Wii u games, specifically super smash. I'll be doing this to get gas and kindle cards.

lol You can't even do that since it only applies to games with TIV of $2 and up.

biggest problem is since their alleged "trade in values are better now!" upgrade, trade in values are almost always better at best buy for newer games.  I've got a few extras of stuff to trade in, was gonna go to best buy but looked up the GS values for giggles.  Assuming PUR Pro and GCU

Dragon Age 3: best buy is $40+4, GS is $30+3

GTA5: BB is $44, GS is $38.50

COD:AW: BB is $44, GS is $38.50

in fact the only game that came out higher at GS is Smash Bros, ~$30 at BB and $38.50 at GS.  So even with a $10 coupon I'm still far, far, far better off going to Best Buy.

To me though that indicates next year Best Buy is going to have to drop trade in values, they are just being too generous.

Plus with GCU I'd rather keep my credit at BBY.

For all the games you mentioned, if they are :ps4: or :xb1: you still get the guaranteed $40 (+10% of base if PUR Pro) at GS.

Thanks OP. I had this coupon and for some reason I have a B2G1 coupon that expires at the end of february. Does anyone else have this B2G1? I also have the B2G1 coupon from renewing that expires at the end of January. The two coupons are worded differently. One specifically indicates that it's b2g1 on games and accessories.

Yeah it looks like the $10 bump coupon doesn't stack with $40 min.  I traded in 8 games, 3 of them were under the $40 min promo and the other 5 (older PS3/Wii U games) all got the $2 bonus promo, and all of course got the 10% PUR Pro promo.

Lucky for me I bought 8 games instead of just 5, although I dunno what would have happened if I brought in 5 or 6, would it have added $2 to each of the non-$40 games or just not allowed the $10 coupon through...

I also got that Buy 2 get 1 Free coupon...that accessories part is very interesting :D

the b2g1 coupons have included accessories for a few months now.  in fact i believe for a very short window it even included consoles, so you could buy three PS3 or xbox 360s and pay for two, although they shut that down very fast.

but seriously, would YOU buy a used controller?  it would be caked with cheeto jizz and mountain dew sweat

Were they all traded under the same transaction? The system must have known to not give the extra $2 promo to the $40 games

Agreed about used controllers. I've bought and seen other used controllers at gamestop that were converted to preowned. I bought a street fighter X tekken fightpad that was brand new, but tagged as a preowned wired 360 controller. It's ymmv, but we should keep a look out for converted accessories that are still in original retail packaging. Anyone seen anything good lately. I know there was a decent conversion last week of a few Collectors edition games, but I didn't ask about accessories.

Are we sure that the two promos will stack that way? It could be just base plus 10% pur
I never said they would stack...and no they won't. You have to do the math if you're trading in one of those $40 games. You're losing $ on them alone with this promo, but they may help boost your lower value games.

I remember when the promotion was get an extra $10 for every 2 games, then it was changed to 3, and now its 5. Nothing special.

The Gamestop Method of Deals

BUY 2, GET 1 FREE!

(Under $20, lol)

$10 EXTRA CREDIT ON 5 TRADES!

(TIV at least $2, lol)

What an awful chain.

The b2g1 throws a wrench in my plan to flip games to BB. I'll have to keep an eye out. There are probably a few games i can finish this weekend.

In fact I would pay extra, that's why I'm Gamestops biggest fan.

Am i the only one that got the b2g1 coupon for free?. I did renew my pur to get the b2g1 coupon but when i got home i still had the one i used and a new one i dont know why. I used my coupon to get 2 gta v for ps4 and mario kart 8. Then i traded in the gta v's for $87 so mario kart was $13 after that. :)

Seems the b2g1 coupon expires in February. Gee thanks Gamestop for giving us a b2g1 free under $20 for BF, yet you give coupons out like these instead. Then again...I should be greatful they did this at least. Would not mind them giving this as a monthly occurrence haha. So I guess...Gamestop did something okay

can someone post the legit coupons to print, would like to take advantage but so far sintgy with the printable coupons

So Gamestop decides to do something nice and gives us a good free coupon and everyone bitches them out. I'll be going there first thing in the morning with 5 games and laughing at the rest of you all the way to the store.

Here is proof Gamestop is an evil company.

I just checked my PowerUp Rewards account and look at the exact balance:

Keep that in mind when you support this company.
