$15 in Xbox Live Rewards with Halo MCC purchase in December

BCPhotog

CAGiversary!
For anyone that missed out on the MS glitch and is still looking for Halo MCC.  They are offering 15,000 points ($15) in credit for the purchase of the game in December.  Not the greatest deal if you have GCU, but for anyone with xbox store credit to burn it could be a decent deal! Link Below

Out of curiosity, what is the "MS glitch" in reference to? Obviously, I missed it but still curious.
This weekend there was a glitch on the microsoftstore.com site where you bought Kinect Sports Rivals for $25 and you got a free game. Among the games were Dance Central 2015 (initially reported as the only freebie but it was quickly discovered that there were more), Halo: MCC, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Forza Horizon 2, Grand Theft Auto V, and possibly others I'm forgetting. These orders were all honored as far as I know. My orders all shipped.

Same, UPS is screwing around and not delivering GTA V as fast as KSR and its bothering me.

So you just have to wait a few days to get in on the deal? Never heard of XBL rewards before.
You just have to sign up for xbox live rewards (which is free) and link your gamertag(which I assume it does at signup), then purchase it through the xbox store. And then you will recieve credit I believe at the end of the month.

Not bad. Been thinking about grabbing this digitally once they fix the servers. $45 seems good to me. Fingers crossed for a deal on some microsoft currency at some point this month to make it even better.

Wow crazy. Congrats to those who got in on that! Sad I missed out.

This deal is digital only, correct?

I really want to have a digital copy of this game and this seems like it might be the best deal on this game this holiday season. As a side note, might be worth picking up this game now as the developers have been saying that they will reward players because of all the glitches with the multiplayer servers and such.

This thing hasn't worked for me since day 1. It's still not fixed. What a slap in the face to those who bought it, they're giving potential buyers $15 to buy the beta of a game we paid full price to try out an alpha of.

I'm not bitter :(

My thoughts exactly when I saw the thread title. And it's still broken.

I preorderd this game.  The multiplayer is still a fucking mess.  I can't play the game I paid for.  They should be offering at least this money back and maybe more to people that bought this game on good faith before it was released.  Ridiculous.

I returned my copy for Dragon Age a week ago. Who cares about $15 in credit when the game is still not working as it should?

Same. Got $44 at BB for it. I will rebuy it in a couple months used at Gamefly or some shit when they finally get everything working. Still don't understand how they could fuck up the main exclusive everyone was waiting for so badly.

There are people like me who will just play the campaigns. I'm not that good at FPS and multiplayers I've done usually end up with me not knowing who is shooting at me and getting killed.

Anyway, when it hits $20 at Best Buy before GCU, that'll be my buy price.

Yeah this sucks. I got it digital on day one, and have had problems since. I contacted official xbox twitter support, made an official forum, and contacted live chat. They still can't do anything. They are screwing up big time.

I bought the disc version at launch but want the digital version as well so I just bought it. Decent enough deal since I tend to get my microsoft points at a discount so I am probably paying less than $40 overall.

I bought it digital day one. I have had much better luck with matchmaking in the recent days--finding matches in seconds, minutes with a party. However, at times, we do get put on different teams.

Yea I preordered this game digitally and it's been broken since day 1...if I would've waited I could have gotten $15 credit...I feel a little screwed maybe it's due to the fact that I finally started going digital with halo mcc and ac unity this year and I got screwed with both! nothing like having worthless digital copies of broken games...guess I'll go back to physical so I can at least trade in and get something out of it

Looks like we can still get our credit back.

The cool thing about digital is the ability to switch games on the fly. Other than that I don't see much of a point as there is no resale value and nothing tangible about it. Digital games should be cheaper because it costs less for the distributor. No shipping fees, printing, assembling, etc. We as the consumers are still kinda screwed in that publishers still charge the same amount for physical and digital.

I bought this game on 11/30/14 before I went out of town so I haven't even played it yet and won't get the $15 credit... I wanted it downloaded for me when I get home this weekend. Should have waited 1 day, that was dumb.

Read the post above mine.

With all the multiplayer issues this game has been having along with bad word of mouth I'm not surprised honestly.

However, I will say outside of skipping a level in Halo 1 via some glitch and getting disconnected once in Halo 1 me and my friend have gone through without too many issues. However, yes , there are some issues like:

Driving the Warthog in Halo CE Anniversary graphics it runs at 30fps for whatever reason. So we turned the graphics to classic while driving the hog. Seems like a patch could probably fix this.

Some achievements are not popping up right away, will probably be fixed in a patch.

Halo 2 doesn't run at a constant 60fps, there are times where it drops into the low 50's, especially playing co-op.

They tuned up the code, but in general both you and your friend have to have rather good internet connections otherwise the non-host player will get some slight lag/stutter during co-op which is more apparent in the first game. I don't believe Halo 4 has this issue but I could be wrong.

I've read/heard Halo 4 campaign has some issues where the game will randomly crash and the game does not maintain 60fps loading in new areas and checkpoints give stutters. But we haven't started Halo 4 yet.

Bottom line is: If you want to re-experience the campaigns in 1080p/60fps (for the most part) then It's a must buy. I was surprised how well Halo 3 looks and has held up on the X1 as well.

However, if you want this game for non-stop Halo multiplayer action your going to have to wait awhile. There will be another patch this week, but it is yet to be seen if it will fix  the MP to the point where everyone can join parties without issues and get into matches within seconds.

I've had better luck then most with the MP, but the game has still crashed on map selection during votes and I've had way too many times where the teams are unbalanced (as bad as 6v2 lol) and my party is on the other enemy team half the time. Honestly if they just fixed the party issue, balancing and the crashes then would make the game a lot more enjoyable. I don't mind waiting 60ish seconds for a match considering most of the time it goes into re-matching after the match completes.

Looks like the new patch has possibly fixed the MP issues outside of uneven teams according to GAF.

Haven't heard much on the party side yet though.

Patch just came out an hour ago.

So sad. Had high hopes for this.

Honestly, Bungie/ MS would be smart to offer some kind of compensation rather than an apology to early adopters of a massively broken game.

Unity holders got free DLC (I know free DLC for a broken game is kinda stupid). While season pass holders got a free game, which is epic.

MCC collection was the selling point for me getting an xbox one. Mainly for MP. Waiting 15 minutes to get one match to only find out it 5v4 or have it crash is past stupid. There is no way this wasn't found out in internal testing.

The new patch broke it for me. I was playing fine in BTB, installed the patch and it stopped working.

Campaign doesn't even work most of the time. I've lost so many legendary checkpoints that it's not worth trying to play right now for me. I can't believe the amount of bugs in this game.

I don't know if posting in that thread will grant you the $15 credit (although, I just briefly skimmed through the posts).
Multiple people reported that MS reps specifically routed them to that specific thread to post. Again not 100% but it is looking promising at least.

Sad part is, I have been working with my dad to get my younger brother an X1 for Xmas and was hoping to buy him MCC then since those were games I loved in the past and would love to relive with him but clearly this shit still isnt even fixed...

If it is all fixed in a couple weeks I will get this for him no doubt, otherwise it looks like I will be picking up Destiny for him to play with me!

I was hoping this game would set the example for all future remasters. I was sick of seeing last-gen games re-released for $50 or $60 with hardly any changes, and I thought this would put them all to shame by having 4 games with significant upgrades. Now I'm worried that devs will look at this and shy away from these types of collections, such as a Mass Effect or Bioshock trilogy packaged for $60.

Guess you have nothing to lose by posting there.

I think (or I at least hope) that the game will be close to 100% functional around Christmas. I've had my fair share of luck when it came to matchmaking and as of recent. I've had quick match finds and quality matches. I know I'm in the small batch that has had a good experience, but I do understand why everyone is extremely upset.

This was Microsoft's chance to make a statement and really capitalize on all the hype that came with Halo and they lost it.

I hope it gets fully fixed soon!

Do I need to purchase MCC online or can I just purchase from XBox store on Xbox One to qualify for the 15,000 points?

I'm definitely worried for the inevitable Gears Of War remastered trilogy. Hopefully MS learned from this experience and puts the game out WHEN ITS READY. Like, 100%, undoubtedly, a year of rigorous testing, READY.

I like Halo, but I love Gears Of War. They better not fuck that up!

I chatted with support as well and they told me they don't do anything with digital promotions and how another department does it. They said they wouldn't be able to honor anything and that was that. Not happy, Microsoft. Not happy at all.

Kinda off-topic, but I'm super confused about the other offer on that page, "Earn 15,000 Rewards Credits for each pre-orderable game that ships this holiday season". But the picture shows a bunch of games that are not releasing this year, or even next year (Kingdom Hearts III). Is that just a mistake?

Co op is broken as fuck. Seems worse now then it did at launch.
