I really wish they would just stop. Rise of the Machines felt like I was watching an episode of Loony Toons, and Salvation wasn't bad for a film, but felt like it shit all over the franchise.

Looks like it starts as the film everyone wanted then shits on the franchise as it tries to reboot it so we can forget about the last 2. I'm happy with it other than it shitting on the franchise. So in other words mixed feelings.

Whoa...so I saw the first trailer..... the first few things that hit me was the music in the beginning.... wasn't that the same they used for Dawn of the planet of the apes?
So from what I have read so far, it looks like this is an alternate timeline.. I wonder where things go differently to cause the alternate time line? I think it's going to be great..but seriously? IMAX (digital) 3d? :( Nooooo
Unlike my thoughts about TFA teaser as being a fake, this trailer felt real!.

Meh.

I suspect that this is going to be terrible, but I admit to being intrigued. T2 established that Terminators can learn, so it could be interesting to see how the Pensionator has changed after living among humans for so long.

So it's a retcon? I guess that's better than a reboot.
From what I read in EW, its not a retcon but an alternate universe. So the previous stories still exist so this is a reboot/rehash of the series.

What I got from it is that a Terminator was sent back to kill Sarah as a child. Not sure if 2 were sent back, one to kill and one to protect, or just one and it changed its mind? If that is the case what it shows is that Terminators age. For a movie this might not be bad, but I just can't seem to get into it as a Terminator film. I just feel it shits all over the first 2 films.

So a terminator sent back in time to kill Sarah Conner to prevent John Conner from being born. Yet she time travels her self effectively canceling out John as humanity's savior and doing the job of the terminator anyways?
Who said anything about her time traveling? The story is a reprogramed T-800 is sent back around the time of her adolescence and basically raises her.

It'll probably be terrible, but I still want to see it.

This is my favorite pic because her finger isn't even on the trigger.

Good eye picking those up. Building time machines should be no easy task. I thought I read somewhere that the TDE requires a Quantum Singularity? There is no way you can generate that much power using current power generating technology. I think you are right... they time jump a few times and Old Arnold waits for them.
If you look at the trailer you will notice that when Kyle goes back in time and Sarah saves him it is clearly in the eighties(like t1). However later during the bus flip scene much newer cars on the bridge and Sarah nor Kyle have appeared to age. Then at the end of the trailer 60s(father figure) Arnold is rocking the white hair while still no aging from our friend Sarah Conner. With the nature of the series I'm leaning towards time travel.

I don't know what to think

I'll see it, no matter what. Sat through T3 and Salvation already.

I saw the screen cap, and thought "What the , Matt Smith?", checked imdb, and sure enough, he's in it.

I love Terminator, and after seeing the feature in EW a few weeks back I wanted to hate it.
Then I watched the trailer.
Can't wait.

As much as I don't like this, I have to say that out of it, Salvation and Rise of the Machines it looks to be the most promising.

I thought the trailer was pretty good with some wtf moments, both good and bad.
Regardless of how the movie turns out, that Arnold v. Arnold scene will be EPIC.

Yeah Caped, he's the giant dickhead from "Divergent". Funny they picked him.

I think digital body double technology has come a long way since Salvation. Honestly I don't know why people are bitching about as I thought the digital arnold/t-800 looked pretty good.

- There is a T-1000 in this film, and not the original one. It will be intersting to see why they send one to kill Sarah Connor instead of John Connor
- The actor playing Kyle Reese just isnt...well... Kyle Reese! lol
- Future War actually looks cool in this movie instead of boring and plain *cough* Salvation *cough*
- The "I'll be Back" and "Come with me if you want to live" were kinda cringe-worthy.
Regardless of how the movie turns out, that Arnold v. Arnold scene will be EPIC.
I don't know how epic the Arnold v. Arnold will be. Something tells me that it wont be much more than what we saw in the trailer.

I don't remember, but did James Cameron write the bible or rules for the terminator universe? I thought I read somewhere that if a terminator sustains heavy damage, it can still function but not at full power and if it's skin is damaged, it can heal but won't be 100 percent and will degrade over time.... if they are following that rule then it would make perfect sense why we have old arnold in this movie.
