I hate trailers that show you the whole movie! I'd hope that they would keep at least some of the plot a secret, but after watching that it doesn't seem like it.

I've been reading that this isn't the "Twist" or a complete spoiler.   I've read there are a number of terminators that the main characters have to deal with including:

 

-The 1984 Terminator that Arnold stops.

-The T-1000 (Lee Byung-hun version) that Sarah and company stops.

-The T-5000 which is rumored to be a hybrid human terminator similar to Marcus Wright from T:S

 

Other rumors state that Future John has been infected with some sort of nano probs that force him to be controlled by skynet.

 

Either way I can't wait to see Arnold fight his younger self...although they have been showing a lot of endo eye exposure in some of those scenes.   It does look like Old Arnold gets a big beat down and loses his arm against the advanced terminator.

....that trailer is like a Terminator fever dream that had fan fiction diarrhea'd all over it. I mean, I'm still excited to see it, but not for the same reasons I was when I saw the (by comparison) subtle first trailer. This film is either going to be the worst thing ever or...nah, I don't think I can pretend it's going to be awesome. But I'll definitely see it as soon as possible. God damn. WHAT THE WAS THAT.

Just came back from the regal imax 3/d version.... seriously with all these investigations that the government does into false advertisements they need to go after theater companies that pull this fake imax shit.  I honestly felt like I was sitting in their medium sized theater screens.

 

Anyways I enjoyed it.  Yes the trailer spoiled a LOT but there were somethings left out.

 

Forget about seeing this movie in 3d... Didn't notice anything worth it. 

 

I'll see it again soon.

I went in last night not wanting to like it, but I did.  Hopefully no one feels this spoils it, but it only counts The Terminator and T2: Judgement Day as cannon.  The trailers did spoil a lot of it like John Connor becoming some sort of Terminator, but that seems to be what's done now.  I didn't think Emilia Clarke worked as Sarah Connor, but I did think she did a good job of it.  At times I could hear a little of her accent.  I also felt Jai Courtney didn't work as Kyle Reese.  He just didn't seem to look the part and also looked too clean.  For someone that lives during the robot apocalypse he looked like he didn't have to skip a shower.  However by the end of the film I didn't care.  Jason Clarke I thought did a damn good job as John Connor.  I'm glad he was cast in the role.  I didn't like what they did to the character, but I wonder if that will end up changing.  It did leave me with one question, and I really don't know if that question will ever get answered.  I got the impression that this was the end, and for the first time in a long time I hope not. who the sent back Pops? It seemed like he was from the future of that timeline or a different timeline that wasn't the original. Nothing in the first 2 films has ever been said about Sarah Connor so I'm wondering if she sent him back from the future

-Ok...if John was attacked by the T-5000/skynet just as Kyle was being sent back, then how did the resistance get a chance to send the Guardian terminator/pop's back to the 1970's to protect kid Sarah?  

-The resistance sure knew how to figure out how to use the TDE pretty quick.

-I really wanted to see the HK-Tank in action.

-So...was Skynet suppose to be "Evil" from the start or did the T-3000/JC corrupted it?

-I really can't believe that Cyberdyne had been working on Liquid Metal and the Time Machine openly like that in their facility.  The Dyson's were sure excited about time travel.

-I don't know if I can call this a T-800 model, as it acted more like a T-850 with more understanding of human nature.

Who said it was the resistance that sent him back.  After all he did say that all that was classified.  In the first 2 films nothing has ever been said about the future Sarah Connor.  The cancer story line came in Rise of the Machines because Linda Hamilton didn't want to come back.  I'm thinking that we will find out in the next film.

It's a movie.  They can't take much time on it.  Also it seemed like only a few knew about the TDE.  At least the ones working on it seemed like they might have.  John knew about its existence so I'm sure that helped them a lot.

I was let down by this myself.  I would have loved to have seen them.  Other than the flying HK's it seemed like everything else was taken from the other movies and all of them seemed a bit much.  I think at one point I saw a smaller HK come off of a larger one.

The way they portrayed Skynet in this film it does seem like it could have been good at one point.  I don't remember if in the first 2 films if it was said if Skynet was really evil or not.  I think it just saw humans as something that needed to be stopped.  However it has been awhile since I saw the first 2 films.  I do remember one can't exist without the other and that both are responsible for each others and their own creation.

I really think that was just because of the future John Connor/T-Whatever he was.  Something like that anyone working on it I'm sure in real life would have to sign something saying they wont say anything.  With the TDE I'm sure they wouldn't even be told what it is or does.  Just given what is needed to build it.  Also most would probably be military working on it as the Liquid Metal would probably be pitched as some sort of future soldier.

That could also be because the person that sent it back may have changed its chip to read and write instead of just read.  For the T-800 models I never really could tell a difference.  Was the T-850 in the Cameron films or even talked about?

I think we got about as much of one as we're going to get.  Pops built an armory and looked at Sara as a daughter.

​I have to disagree on this one.  With things ending the way they did I think it's good for him to know.  Hell with him living he was bound to find out especially after she named the child John.  This changes things for the future as we now will have a John Connor that has both parents.

It will also make Kyle older than him.  When the first meet Kyle wont be a kid and John an adult.  So when Kyle is sent back in time he will also be much older than he already was.  In the story I'm not sure how close him and Sarah were originally in age.  Or it could speed up the time from the start of the war to when Kyle does go back so that they're still around the same ages they originally were.  Movie time travel stuff I don't like to think about too much.  Nothing ever seems to add up.  Especially when they decide to just change the future.

Well, it is a program and has to be stored some place.  I really think I could have done without this ending, but as was seen with Kyle, Sarah and Pops they all know that Judgment day will still happen.

This, Pops and the T-1000 that was sent back to 1984 all make me wonder what changed that caused Skynet to send them all back.  I thought with the way the Terminator and T2: Judgement day were it was all one big circle.  So something big must have changed.  Even from first film to T2 something had to change because in the first film Kyle said they had won.  Then in T2 another was sent back.  Unless after Kyle was sent back John knew that Skynet set 2 back before he could send Kyle.  I'm going to go with that unless I missed/forgot something when it comes to the first 2 films.

I'm sure it was sent back with the read/write activated on its chip.  I was obvious that Sarah was teaching it things and she would have been too young to alter the chip when they first met.  So the person that sent it back knew to change that chip over.  With that and it raising her like a father I'm sure it grew attached.  This was somewhat shown at the end of T2.  Uncle Bob knew that it couldn't stay to help raise John.  It looked like it would have liked to, but it knew it had to be destroyed to prevent Judgment day.

When he fell into the Liquid Metal I knew what was going to happen.  Sure it could have worked either way, but this time it was nice to see the hero's live for once.  At the end of the first film Kyle dies and in T2 Bob has Sarah melt him.  RotM I can't really remember.  I somewhat remember something about a door and the bombs going off.  I remember seeing all the ash and a red eye.  For Salvation I can't remember if he gave his heart or the moved John Connor's face to it.  I keep thinking at the end before the credits we saw glowing red eyes.  I know the ending was changed.  So it's nice to see the Terminator that was good and Kyle live in this one.

 

-So what now?  Kyle and Sarah go off and get married ?

 

Possibly.  They stopped Judgment Day, but they obviously know it will happen.  Who knows when seeing how all they did was postpone it.  It my not even be Genisys, but it's best that Kyle tell himself that as a child just in case and to keep the current timeline in tact.  I'm sure in the next film they will have had John.

OH SHIT!!! I just thought it has to have been Sarah that sent Pops back.  Unless she tells John the date and when to send him back, it has to be her.  Maybe Kyle sends him back, but I really don't see it being him.  The only reason I can think of for not telling any of them is if the future her told it not to.

 

Also now that Kyle knows and has seen his self as a child when the child Kyle grows up he will know it was him that does go back.  Will to talk to John about this.  How much will he know or even question about things.  If future Kyle and Sarah are still around will they tell him?

 

Also why is it that every picture from the end of the first film other than the original all look like digital crap.  The one from Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles looked bad and so did the one from this film. I know it's just a picture, but why not spend the money on going to the spot that the picture was taken with that same model Jeep and take the Polaroid picture.

I think the T-1000 is the same that they sent back to kill Sarah's parents.  In the 2nd film wasn't it said that the one sent back was a prototype?  Also Pops didn't destroy the T-1000 that was sent back to kill Sarah and her parents.  He just blew it up with an RPG.  As for them knowing who sent Pops back I would hope they do know.  Just like someone said on that forum, it's best to put all that in because you don't know if you will even make a sequel.  Just look at the one before this one that McG made.

 

 

As for all that with Kyle I think too much is being looked into.  I also think it would have been better for them just to have left the first 2 films in the past and everything else about the future war and sending Kyle back, but they didn't.  Best I can come up with is that whatever changed things to send Pops back to protect Sarah as a child and the T-1000 to kill her and her family some how didn't change everything.  Or at least happened in a different order so that the T-800 and Kyle going back didn't change.  If that's the case then Pops and the T-1000 go back after John was changed instead of Uncle Bob and the T-1000.  Some Skynet was different and knew what John was doing with Kyle.  It was able to change things and this all originally didn't happen and now that Kyle was stuck in the bubble it was causing him to see both timelines.  Again doing stuff like this just messes with things if not planed out right.  Cameron did it best. In the first film the T-800 and Kyle go back.  Kyle gets Sarah pregnant and some kid takes her picture.  Same picture that she later gives John when telling him about Kyle.  Same picture that John gives Kyle when talking to him about Sarah causing him to fall in love with her. The endo-arm and chip are left from the T-800 setting it up for the next film and showing how Skynet was created.  The circle was completed.  Only real question wouldn't come till T2 and it's "Why in the hell didn't Dyson ask questions about the arm and chip that were so far advanced?" Questions like "Where did they come from?" and "Who made them?" Really you're one of the best in your field of work and you don't check this out.  This could have all been talked about in T2 and I just forgot.  No matter what it does complete the circle.  Genisys just changes the circle.  I would have liked for it to have done a better job, or just stuck with the future and not have changed it at all, but I can live with this.  It's miles better than Rise of the Machines and Salvation.

The movie poster did this as well.  I think the writer/director had said they hated how the trailers came out.  I don't think they had any control of it.

Just watched it today. It was okay. Emily Clark is a miscast though. She looks tiny, height and body wise. Also in some scene she looks like she's 12 years old.
