Ugh I probably won't find much this year. I work 8-5 weekdays now :(
That's better than my 8:30 to 8:30 M-F schedule. I do take the occasional day off though. You learn to live for Saturday sales and skip the Friday sales which will already be picked over. You can also hit early Friday morning sales if your commute isn't far.

I have some catching up to do from last year, was waiting for this thread to pop up.

Also, is Ferrari Racer using a time machine?

Yeah and we'll be getting hoverboards this year.... kidding

Also I'm looking for a new job now, maybe I'll have something that starts later in the day, which would be nice.

Excited to start yard-saling for real this summer, went out a few times last year and got an awesome gamecube lot, but now that I have fridays off and will be used to getting up at 6am, I should be able to find A LOT more!

Went to my first moving sale of the year this morning. It was indoors, not everything was for sale, you had to actually look for the items with price tags. I heard "oh thats not for sale" about 4 times. Only 2 things of interest but passed on both, $40 big minifridge/ $40 slim PS2 with cables and 8 sports games.

First yard sale purchase of 2015, got the dbz budokai hd collection for ps3 for a measly quarter. No case or manual.and its a little bit scratched up, but it's a blu ray disc so I'm betting it will work.

I just accepted a job that goes for 5-10pm, so it looks like I'll be going to yard sales during the week again, unless I decided to go for a 2nd job during the day...

Nice find! Saw somebody trading in Earthbound and the guide at 2nd & Charles when I was there the other day. They had the game value at $150 and usually offer 40% of that in trade or 20% or so in cash. When I get a copy it's definitely not going to be traded to a 2nd hand store.

I got it for 7 dollars. There was other snes games (common ones and some donkey kong and street fighter games but decided not to be too greedy. Let some other cats get some games.
.....thats nice of you........but Im sure if the price was cheap enough just about anyone else wouldve bought it all! I know I wouldve, its like you snooze you lose around here with Nintendo stuff at yardsales.

This was an unadvertised online yard sale purchase (thank you Facebook) - saw a woman selling Pokemon videos and I asked if there were any games hidden among the VHS stacks. Apparently there was - she sent me a list, and I picked the following items up for $60. Highlights included Link To the Past/Four Swords, Luigi's Mansion, and the Wavebird Controller. Going to keep a few choice items, and flip the rest.

Not my greatest find, but little pick ups like this will hold me over until the real yard sale season starts.

Yard sales have been picking up a bit around here.

-2 Zelda DS game cases + Wii wheel: $5

-Saitek P2000 Tilt Pad for PC: $4 (can't find anything on what this normally goes for)

-Star Trek fighter pods toy + EduScience demolition kit, both new: $8

Ok, I've found an good amount of stuff lately from yard-sales and even south of border finds (wish I knew Spanish for better haggling lol). Would you guys mind if I have post a lot of pictures up?

I lagged it, here's what I found during the yard-sales and from my south of the border venture!

Mexico finds: First pic games for $300 pesos (equals roughly $15.00) second pic $150 pesos (equals $7.50???). Apparently, Super Mario+all stars is pretty common over there lol! The Wave Birds worked perfectly too (sadly no adapters) :(

Yard sale finds: $15.00 for the teal N64 (it came with expansion pak). $25.00 for the second pic stuff, the Pokemon XD game was a freebie because, it came with the console without me knowing it lol! Paid $20.00 for the 3rd pic stuff ( I can't resist boxed N64 stuff). $40.00 for the DS and SNES stuff, mainly got it for the Snes games.

Finally hit a decent score today. Hit up an estate sale that mentioned atari stuff. I roll up around 8am and right in the middle of the living room are three boxes of dusty consoles. I ask how much for everything and the guy hits me with $50. There was a sweet Jack Daniels lamp. So I counter 50 for everything with the lamp. He counters $60 for eveverything and I take it. Still going through the boxes but here's what I have so far:

Yellowed SNES (working, just needs a bit of cleaning)
SNES Ascii Pad and regular pad

4 Atari 2600s, 2 regular and 2 juniors w/ 8-10 common games. Also came with a ton of controllers and a couple of power sources and some AV cables.
Nintendo 64 w/ controllers. doesn't have power cord but I might have a spare
Original Xbox console, no AV/power
Original NES w/ mario duck hunt and controller, untested but I'll remedy that soon. Pretty discolored but hopefully it works
Original Playstation console, no cords
Rise 2 Resurrection for PS1 complete

All told I think I did pretty well, especially if everything works and I can softmod the OG Xbox.

This was my only find this weekend. I think it was a great find because, I still didn't own one. The box is pretty beat up but, it was worth it for $20.00 bucks!

^^ ?? do you mean finding sales?  I just check craigslist.

I can't wait to see if anyone here finds some rare amiibos for $1 a piece :)

I dont bother with Craigslist sales unless theyre on the way. If they can work CL then they probably want "what it goes for on Ebay". I do best driving around looking for signs and unadvertised sales.

^^ I ask and you deliver. Bravo!

I can't stand driving around aimlessly though. I'll make up a list using craigslist and gsalr and then if I see a sign, I'll stop there too.

out of curiosity, are there any recommended sites to go to that people tend to post info for their yard/garage sales?  i mainly use craigslist since people tend to use it around here but any other sites would help.  don't want to miss out on something i didn't know about, you know?

http://gsalr.com/

This site pretty much just gathers information about sales listed on CL, local newspaper or any other ways of advertising. Also, if you have any local freebie magazines or monthlies, sometimes they will have advertisements.

Oh man, I am getting super itchy for yard sale season to start. Usually there are a least a few around Baltimore during the winter, but all this ice and snow has really been killing things.

Same here. It was nice to not have to do it for a few months, but now I'm kind of excited for it to start up again in 2 or 3 months. I really need to spend some time sorting and unloading some more stuff I got last year. I want to hopefully try and clean house before this year starts new.

I'm looking forward to the season but it won't be a great one for me.... I just got a new schedule where I work 11-8 Thursday-Monday. 12:30 was bad enough, but there's another hour and a half off of my garage sale time. I'll only have 2-2.5 hours to go out that means. Likely means more days where I find very little.

Eh, I'm pretty much looking at a 11am time limit on my end, too. The little one has a playgroup then and I had to cut a deal.

I'm going to cut down on time out and how much I pick up this year.  I also need to unload some stuff before the season starts.  A trade page is starting to sound like a good idea.

I'm hoping my 5-11pm work schedule stays the same :)

This will be my first yard sale season without having school in the way since I graduated. Should be able to do a lot more shopping this time.

What I hope to find this year...

$200 PS4 (lol)

Decent N64 games

Limited edition N64 systems

Xbox One games

Cheap PS3 that reads discs, mine doesn't

Upgrades for my home theatre system

One of my only goals for this yard sale season is a copy of Mutant League Hockey (or if someone else finds one here ;)) I've been looking for that one for a very long time. My other hope is $1 pokemon DVDs.

Last year I got a lot of DVDs and CDs and took them to Hastings and got some stellar trade credit with some of the promos they had. Think I turned $50 into around $350ish and still kept a bunch of stuff.

Good luck to you all this season!

OH GOD YES. It's been so long.

I recently had to leave one I joined on Facebook, it was getting too irritating. Too many people trying to resell amiibos and other stuff that just came out and bashing people who pick up stuff cheap at yard sales. And don't even get me started on the relentless fanboy squeeing, and this coming from an ardent fanboy himself.

Now I'll probably look for last gen Rock Band instruments if they work with RB4

I saw so many last summer
