Blow Air Towards or Away from New Consoles to Reduce Overheating?

Just got a new PS4 and Xbone, but don't have much room in my entertainment center. They'll be going in small compartments with only about 1.5" of space above and a couple of inches of space to the side of each console for breathing room (the back end will be totally open, though).

I plan on cutting discreet holes into the  entertainment center and wiring compter fans to a usb to turn on when the consoles do, dissapating some of the heat. The question is, should I have the fans blowing air away from the consoles or towards it?

Don't put it in there. That isn't enough room. You're asking for trouble. The systems want room to breath and your plan will suffocate them
