Wombat, that was the U-force.

I remember seeing that for $15 at a KB-toys when the NES was dying out.

edit:

Here's a better video.  U-force at 10:30

Shipwreck didn't pre-order Villager? Kind of shocked...

Anyways, the reason I wanted Villager, Little Mac, etc is because they'll never make a figurine for them ever again most likely (at least for the North American market). The last Little Mac figure came out in the 80's for example.

its literally the same shit, the tomb raider and the sf5 deal.

sf5 is being developed by dimps the same developers that made sf4. why people try to associate one being different are biased narrow minded idiots.

dimps was even recruiting talent back in september and now more information has come out that microsoft is even publishing tomb raider which means they're even more involved with the game.

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2014/sep/01/dimps-recruiting-street-fighter-5-capcom-working-developer-new-next-generation-fighting-game-project/

sony is money hatting all kinds of games exclusive in japan like destiny but people just continue to believe in some divine benevolence on the part of sony.

As a fellow 6'4" human being, I've also experienced near daily wonderment at my height and questions regarding basketball.

It's kind of funny, since 6'4" is pretty undersized in even a semi-competitive high school environment, let alone a top level program/conference. In college or the pros, you're a guard at 6'4".

Unlike Cheapy, however, I actually played. Having the ball slip out of your hand when attempting a shot is just terrible. It's legitimately inexcusable for anyone who is under the age of 80.

I'm not super tall but I had a similar basketball experience to Cheapy's. My brother and I were (competitve) swimmers but when I was 11 or 12 I wanted to try playing basketball on a team. I never considered myself good, but I enjoyed playing basketball for fun. So I signed up for a season. It was horrible. My coaches were 3 high school kids. It was so disorganized and it always pissed my mom off at just how disorganized it was. Anyways, the funny part of this story is that I was given a foul for something I didn't even know was a thing, and probably no one did but the ref since no one is bad enough to do it but me. I had gotten a rebound and was running back to the other side of the court and was stopped by the ref because I was letting the ball bounce above my waist and you're apparently not allowed to do that. I was incredibly confused, but still embarrassed.

A few things I feel you are forgetting about Nintendo...they aren't bad at building hype by creating scarcity. They did the same damn thing with the Wii, put out only a few "because no one thought it would sell," and the demand was crazy high among parents that Christmas. It's the same way this time around, except for older fans wanting to collect them all. Also, this is Nintendo's first foray into these types of figures (which I still have no freaking idea what the purpose is), so they didn't really know the demand. While, yes, Activision knows how to do with it with Skylanders, they sure as hell had the same problem when they first came out a few years back. Good show as always, fellas, and welcome back to America, Cheapy.

I saw this exhibit in high school, and even then I was creeped out!

I wonder if Circuit City would have handled something like Gamer's Club better than Best Buy. Remember the classic line said by a Circuit City employee to Wombat?

"I got the last one, sucka!"

I don't like seeing those bodies exhibits, considering they're usually made of Chinese political prisoners.

Anyway, it's comforting to hear that CheapyD got his situation somewhat fixed, but you should still see a doctor, Mrs. Cheapy's insurance can pay for it.. But wow, that apartment sounds like a nightmare. You'd think the standard would be at least the doors would close and the HVAC can be adjusted with an external knob. Americans really do have a problem with quality control. Surely the Wombat family can hook you up with a great contractor in addition to those rugs and hardwood floors.

Shipwreck, I too have a Taiko Drum Master controller, and I got mine for $20 free shipping from eStarland a few years ago. I just didn't play with it enough. :(

I am also a 6'3 guy and though i am much fatter than cheapy I am also interested in this squatty thing. I hate to admit it but im 37 and it just doesnt come out like it used too and my legs going to sleep are just a miserable problem. I think this might be a good investment for me. All you young ones can laugh at us old farts but you will be right with us some day lol

It actually looks like a good idea i think. Nothing worse than sitting on the throne longer than you have too

Haha Basketball. Cheapy I scored 1 goal my entire 3rd grade Basketball Career

In the wrong Basket

Aww yea side note not necessarily gaming but gotta know

Whatchall think of that Korra ending

A couple of things.

First, Shipwreck was correct in assuming the vagueness of Nintendo's description of it's 2 new NES Remix titles would confuse would-be purchasers. A co-worker of mine was talking about all of the Wii-U stuff (console & games) he got for his son for Christmas. He said he was considering getting NES Remix so he could play some of the old classics with his son. I debated bursting his bubble, but I ended up telling him that I had them (both the Wii-U and 3DS versions) and they were actually collections of mini-games & challenges in 8-bit Nintendo game scenarios. He sounded disappointed when I told him but I'm sure it saved him from getting upset if he had purchased it and then realized that is was something other than what he thought it was.

Secondly, when asked about weird games & controllers, I was a little disappointed that Ship didn't mention Seaman for the Dreamcast with it's microphone attachment for the controller. I recently purchased a Japanese Seaman for the PS2 which came with a gold, custom controller that looks like something off the show Lost.

[attachment=10861:Seaman2Controller.jpg]

Even if he doesn't have Seaman, I know he has the the Japanese version of the 'Hey You, Pikachu!' microphone controller because I sent it to him in exchange for picking up X-Com for me a few months back.

I'm somewhat fanatical about picking up weird controllers even if they are unique to only a single game. When I visited Japan in 2008, I came back with a whole slew of them, two of them being a Densha de Go! and one a Pachinko controller. Some of my favorite U.S. released ones were the Namco Neg-Con & Jog-Con for the Ridge Racer games.

A few shows back, Cheapy talked about wanting an orchestra conducting game, and they came out with one on the Playstation in Japan called Maestro Music for PS1 (not to be confused with Mad Maestro on U.S. PS2) that used a baton controller than you could change the tempo of the music (by swinging the baton faster or slower)  and also the volume of different sections (by how much force you made your gestures).

There was also a Japanese RC Helicopter game/simulator called, oddly enough, "Flying Circus" (not affiliated with Monty Python) that had a full functioning RC Plane/Helicopter controller.

Last item before I sign off. Cheapy, did you happen to move into the one zip code in NYC where Amazon is offering their Prime Now 1-2 hour delivery service? If not, how long do you think before it will be available to you?

Keep up the great work. Can't wait to hear your Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year's stories on the next CAGcast.

What the hell is going on? Why is the Gamer's Club Unlocked such a pain in the butt. I never got a card from Best Buy when I signed up. Everything is tied to my phone number. Didn't Shipwreck tie the entire account to CheapyD's number? He wouldn't need the card AT ALL.

Anyway, I also subscribed to Retro Magazine. They only accept Visa and Mastercard, meaning I couldn't use Paypal or Amex. So I had to go to buy a $25 gift card with a $4 fee(which is bull).

Wii's weren't readily available in stores until 2008. Nintendo might still have the lead for that generation if they had actually put out some damn systems, or maybe the crest would have been 2009 instead of 2010.
