freedom wars is $14.99 at best buy right now, down to $12 with GCU.  $2 more than what'll be at gamestop, but it'll be a brand new unopened unplayed copy unlike whatever the you'll get at gamestop and you can buy it today instead of waiting till after christmas

So youre using an example of a system that was way too expensive at launch, came out in 2009, lacking a large library of games, was a stripped down version of an exsisting system, and had virtually no real marketing done as an example of digital only platforms dont work?

 

What about the billions made on android and apple products that are digital only? Steam and origin? Even pc's are basically digital only now considering 99% of the time when you buy a retail copy of a game youre just really buying the cdkey inside of it and the disc is all but just a coaster.

PS4/XBO games are already above 25GB. That means next-gen will be greater, but not everyone has unlimited bandwidth from their ISP. Some providers even have slow, pricey packages which would be terrible if consoles went full digital. Also digital only requires a lot of storage, so consoles would need to be at least 1TB.

If the cost of digital games start to be less than physical games then I could see games going digital only even with the large download sizes. I think people with losuy internet providers/speed are going to get left behind and honestly they already are with some of these online only games.
