So, to record PSTV and PS4 games without having to mess with HDCP I purchased the Splitter recommended by everyone on the board.
For PS4 and PSTV games it works fine.
When I play the game, it records everything without a problem and lets me play uninhibited.
So I decided to try it with the PS3 so I didn't have to mess with changing the console over the component for every recording.
Worked fine, then when I started up a CD game I got a big warning "Dolby Digital Audio Not Supported" and all sounded is missing from the recording/playback
Yet, on the dashboard, in aps, and all downloaded games and softward (PSN, PS3, PS1 and PS2 games) sound is recorded in the playback AND the Dolby Digital warning does NOT pop up.
We tested it with 3 Disk Games
Beyond Two Souls, South Park Stick of Truth, and BulletStorm.. all had the Dobly Digital and new sound in the recording/playback
YET after testing 20 aps, and games on the system.. they all worked fine.
So what is going on?
Part of the reason I wanted to try use the HDMI was due to recording/playback issues of the PS3 component being extremely static when going through the Elgato. Things sounded like they were going to blow out my speakers on certain movies, and videos when the recording wasn't in use and I was to lazy to reset up the HDMI portion.
