All the ones worth a crap do.   Shouldn't return the monitor.  Sounds like an excuse to buy a computer.

CoD Ghosts is available somewhat locally but I can't be bothered to drive 9 miles for it.

"Bleh" @ it not being local enough for you.

There's some extremely cheap deals, provided one can be lucky enough to find a copy.

And hopefully, somebody at GameStop hasn't already activated the damn key already.

I know it is a long shot, but if anyone has a local store that they can get any of the above, I am interested and would be happy to pay more for the trouble of picking it up.

Thanks

Why is the Gamestop website so shitty? I'd look for some of those PC games if it saved my location and I didn't have to go to yet another page and use Bing maps to find a location every single time. Can you not just load a location into the item page? Why does KMART have that technology and you don't?

But it's nice that you get to see the disc-only copy in stores when you pick it up and can possibly return it when you find out the key was already used by a pizza-faced toothpick of an employee.

Because it's pretty easy to load 28 locations into the item page.

Last time I tried to buy a PC game from Gamestop was when one of the CoD games (ghosts?) was like tree fiddy.

I put in a request online to pick it up at the Gamestop near my work. When I get there, the clerk pulls out a copy that's not in the plastic shrink-wrap. I stare at the clerk in disbelief as she starts to ring me up.

Me: "Uh.... this is unsealed."

Clerk: "I can seal it back up for you if you want."

Me: ???

I grab the game, open the box, and sure enough, the DVD is there but no CD key.

Me: "Yeah, this is useless without a CD key"

Clerk: "CD key? What are you talking about?"

I spend about 5 minutes explaining to her how PC games have CD keys and without it, the game is just a useless piece of plastic, before the other clerk walks out of the back room, overhears our conversation, and says "Oh yeah, those should have CD keys". No shit??? I walked out of there and facepalmed so hard I almost gave myself a concussion.

Pretty much.  I suppose it's okay to buy console games there but I would never buy a physical PC game from Gamestop.  There has to be a reason they're selling stuff at 0.50 cents.

hey man those disks ain't cheap. i think buying pc games at GS is like trying to find a hookup at a bar. you COULD do it there, but there are much better places for that sort of thing.

Eh, I actually got a $3 copy of Assassins Creed: Unity at a local GameStop about 8 months ago. It was sealed and the Uplay key worked fine. The competent managers know the market and don't let employees open the tiny stock of PC games anymore. I've had bad experiences and good experiences doing this; it's just a straight-up crapshoot, but if it's a decent game, it's usually worth at least taking a trip for 5-10 miles to see. Worst case scenario is that you've wasted a small amount of gas and time.

My biggest issue is that by the time the PC games get this cheap, they're not available in a 100-mile radius. Of the large number on MysterD's list, I checked 7. Of those, one is within 9 miles, one is within 55 miles, and one is just about 100 miles away. I might check on the 9 mile item in the next few days.

If you mean whorehouses, I'd be too afraid of catching a computer virus.

What's wrong with using a DVI-HDMI cable? They are like $3 at Walmart. It's what I use.

Compare your list with this one and make sure you haven't missed any:

Another helpful option to consider:  point out which games aren't on Steam but available on Uplay or Origin.

Thanks for the list.  It's nice to have one that's maintained by a CAG.

B/c it's GameStop. Everything surrounding that place has always been that way, more or less.

EDIT:

Did you buy an old monitor?

Or do you have a new higher-end one w/ DisplayPort?

I did notice that list had a few things out of date. Also mine is done in order of new to old so the newest GOG releases are at the top.

Re TSB: Glad I never checked out on that Fanatical "Nemesis" bundle.

Re QB: It *actually* a game that I've wanted to buy for around $15 so I may re-up early this month. (ITAD says it was sub $15 once, but I must have missed it.)
