Shocking!!

Jason Schreier has more to say on this, as he talked to some Bethesda employees before E3 last year that were afraid Starfield could be the "next Cyberpunk 2077."

Jason's Tweet.

EDIT:

More delays!

Dying Light 2's first major story DLC (planned for June 2022 originally) has been delayed to September:

Even with a delay, I still have a feeling this will be the case

The Bethesda open world jank was kind of endearing back in the day, but there are so many good games to play nowadays that idk if as many people are willing to deal with it anymore

Looks like Matt McMuscles "What Happened?" episode on Starfield has been delayed into next year, as well.

Bethesda RPGs are so overrated.  Especially as time marches on, after the modernity of game development post Skyrim (circa 2011), as Kyle said.

If Starfield doesn't have randomly swimming NPCs or mammoths flying on space dragons, I'm not buying it.

Isn't Fallout 4 the only RPG that came from Bethesda directly since Skyrim?

Was saying that the pre-Skyrim stuff has certainly not aged well.

But Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 were not very well-received either

It’s almost like Bethesda has never been a good developer and mostly managed to stay relevant by making a style of game that nobody else was really doing with any kind of skill until about ten years ago.

I never knew they made a game based on what my dad used to say to me before those family summer road trips.

I just remembered that Skyrim combat suck but for some reason I couldn't stop playing the game when it first came out. I also probably own about 5 or more different copies of the game.

Not surprising, since that clown has too much to say about everything.

I still enjoy games like Skyrim. It's an amazing sandbox RPG, particularly when you consider mods. The lore is great. Now if they can just bring the combat up to date with other games and throw in a few meatier side quests.

What's another game that's just like Skyrim that lets you create just about any type of character and do whatever you like?

And if they actually throw in more real decision-making/branching quests with actual role-playing; and hired some skilled writers that can actually write dialogue, characters, stories, etc - yeah, then they might actually be on the level of Old BioWare (BG1 to ME3) and Obsidian.

Most certainly can't touch old Black Isle though, in terms of writing, prose, and actual dialogue - i.e. PS:T. Maybe ZA/UM, the guys behind Disco Elysium, today are closest to that PS:T level of writing, prose, and dialogue?

That GMG sale has some of the best prices for many of the games, and a lot of newer indie games discounted decently.

He tries hard to report on politics under the guise of the unicorn that is "game journalism". All this is is thinly-veiled socialist bullshit. If developers don't like " crunch", then go work in another industry. It's no one's God given right to make more or work differently than what supply and demand dictate, and there is no shortage of people who would love to take their places.
