When did this come out? I don't ever remember even hearing about this version.

But anyways, $200 seems kind of steep when we're only a couple weeks away from the new hardware. And other limited versions like the NES themed console can be had for $30 less.

it came out last July of last year
 
It doesn't say LL...but it's also just a picture that can be manipulated. I've never seen a NA XL box that looks like that. From what I just found, this seems to be a Chinese iQue. I've definitely seen this design before, but I don't recall seeing it in any complete NA 3DS XL collection.
 
In this unboxing video, there is a front sticker that says U.A.E., Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Malaysia (although it is supposed to have NTSC region firmware). The AC adapter plug is definitely non-NA.
