TIV Tracker: a site for comparing trade in values

I've been browsing this site for many years but have not really made a post. I've recently been developing and using a trade in tracker to help me sell games that I have finished playing. It basically displays the trade in values across multiple merchants to facilitate the search for the best possible trade in price.

The site is simple to use. Just type in the name of the game and search. I was thinking other gamers could benefit from the tracker too, so I ended up making it public. The site can be found here:

I will add more merchants soon. If you have any suggestions or feature requests, let me know.

Thanks.

Thanks for posting this. Works fine for comparing best buy vs Amazon. The problem is your game database must not be very large. I gave up after not finding 3 or 4 different games for PS3 and Xbox360. The games not found included Yakuza 3, Afro Samurai and the Orange Box.

Edit: Found another issue just now. Searched Super Mario and the first 15 results were Super Mario Bros 2 on 3ds.

Thanks for your input. You are right. As of now, the database is small because I'm only using the subset of games that Amazon as a merchant is selling for the catalogue. So for instance, Yakuza 3 is on sale at Amazon, but the merchants are all 3rd party. As for your second issue, the reason that is happening is because all UPC variants of a game are output on a separate row. This is a side effect of looking up games on Amazon, since Amazon actually has multiple UPCs listed per game.

I've been developing solutions for both issues in the past couple of days and plan to push them to production soon. If you don't mind, could you let me know what other games you tried searching for?

Thanks.

No problem, glad that you find the site helpful.

I've updated the site. The changes are as follows:

  • The results are now more concise, meaning repeat entries are no longer displayed.
  • The amount of games tracked is now significantly increased.
  • GameStop has been added to the list of merchants to compare trade in values against.
