2015 Flea Market Thread

JohnnySako

CAGiversary!
I didn't see that another Flea Market thread for 2015 finds was created, sorry if someone beat me to it...

I visited our local indoor flea market for the first time. Game selection was crap/overpriced, but I found a couple CDs:

Afroman - The Good Times -- $1

The Pharcyde - Runnin' Maxi-CD single -- $1

I'm always happy to find the CD singles for the rare remixes and B-sides.

I found Super Mario Bros 3, complete for $10 with a copy of Crash Bandicoot: Warped thrown in, the Basketball 2 by Mattel Electronics for $3, and a Star Wars LCD game for $1.  Not a bad day at all.

I hope yard sale finds are ok to list. I went to a few today and found the following

Like new in box slim ps2 with 2 new controllers $25

Like new Wii without controller for $20

Wii remote $1

Wii intercooler stand new $1

Ps2 games .50 each. Jackass, Smugglers Run, Tokyo Extreme Racer 0

$6 for Guitar hero 3 and world tour with new guitar.

Tomb Raider Last Revelation   .10 cents

NFS Underground Xbox $3 .... a lil high but I love the game :)

and a really cool desk lamp for .25 cents :p

Edit: Also got a huge AFX slot car track for $1

All I need to do now is find some cheap or free Wii games lol. At least I have a few GC games to play on it till then.

Hit up a local one I hadn't been to in ages. There were two video game centered stands with really good selections but nothing that stood out. A few others that had random games (mostly new stuff), but I just got an XBox One so I passed. Decent prices for the most part, one guy had quite a few good 360 titles with some PS2 games too that were 2 for $5.

Did pick up The Brak Show Season 1 for $5 and Barb Wire for $3 from a guy.

Also, overheard a great exchange between a mother and her son when I was browsing one of the video game stands. "No, you don't need Call of Duty." "Why not?" "Because you're four."

Only one halfway shady guy. Saw some DVDs at his stand and he said "DVDs are $2.50." My sister was looking at the first two seasons of Modern Family and I saw South Park Season 12. He then said "Oh, those are $2.50 per disc." Sorry dude, Best Buy has Modern Family for $8.99 new. South Park was only 3 discs, but still not worth it. They're constantly online.

I'm here to brag that I am a complete moron.  I passed up a COMPLETE Odyssey (original, not 200 or 2 or anything like that, the first one) for $20.  It was CIB.  I wasn't sure if it was something worth while or not...  I am an idiot.

I am error.

I got all this today for $61

Would have been $56 if i had enough money buy got stuck twice paying $2.50 atm withdraw fees twice because i found good stuff i couldn't pass up.

donkey kong

street fighter aplha 2 ps1

gundam battle assault 2 ps1

dragon ball z ultimate battle 22 ps1

super smash bros brawl disc only wii

dungeon explorer disc only sega cd  ( surprised by the value of loose disc for this)

value wise i think this beats or is close to my $20 dollar toploader early this year. Doesn't beat my free waynes world with manual though.

I had probably one of my best hauls in awhile at my local flea market yesterday and I owe it all to the rain!

It usually starts at around 6 am but I always try to get there by 5:45 or earlier to avoid resellers. So I'm about to leave my house at 5:30 and a torrential downpour of rain comes out of nowhere but I think meh, maybe it will quit.  Nope, it gets even worse while I'm driving there almost to the point where I'm about to turn around but I was already halfway there so I just say fuck it and press on.  When I get there no one is setting up yet but the rain is finally starting to let up a little.  There's a small indoor area where there are usually a few vendors so I head in and actually find a few decent PS1 games.  A few minutes later the sky clears up and vendors are setting up left and right.  So, I head outside and, since there was barely anyone there, I had first crack at every booth!  I feel like now I know the true meaning of a blessing in disguise lol.

My haul:

Ape Escape (PS1) Black Label - $2

Twisted Metal (PS1)  - $2

Crash 2 (PS1) - $2

PS1 Memory Card - $1

LoZ: Ocarina of Time (N64) grey cart V1.0 - $8

Turok Rage Wars (N64) - $3

Pokemon Yellow Version - $5

Pokemon Red Version - $5

Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver Guide - $2

Pokemon Platinum Guide - $2

Yu Gi Oh: Falsebound Kingdom (GCN) - $2

GBA (original model) - $1

Usually I don't get anything at flea markets, but last Saturday at the one I usually go to two or three times in the summer had a few things I thought were worth picking up.

MST3K: Mitchell (Single Episode DVD) - $2

Hobo With a Shotgun (Bluray) - $5

Shade the Changing Man Vol 2: Edge of Vision (old Vertigo Graphic Novel / Trade) - $2

Last weekend I picked up a few things.

:pS2: Mega Man X7 - $10

:pS3: God Of War Collection - $5

CD - Suburban Legends - $1

3 HDMI Splitter - $1.

Wasn't the best deals on the games but wasn't bad either. CD's are always amazingly priced. We'll see how I do this upcoming weekend. The HDMI splitter was the real gem in the situation.

Last Sunday

[attachment=14644:IMAG0220.jpg]

[attachment=14645:IMAG0221.jpg]

gameboy sp graphite ags 101 -$5   missing battery cover and battery. Fair condition, nice screen.

$1 for oddworld

Not sure whether to buy a replacement battery and cover which would run $10 bucks for the both or just take the screen from it for the GBA backlit mod.

I'd feel kind of bad butchering a SP that is in decent condition though. At the same time I'd feel bad spending $10 on a battery and battery cover would make it $15 total investment for a backlit SP which still is good compared to retail but not much of a great deal any more.

The cheapest gameboy SP battery "cover" on ebay would cost more then I paid for the gameboy.

Looking at about $6 for the cover and $4 for a battery.

hard to justify paying more for the battery cover then the system itself.

(grumble) I've done the same. I was like, "What the hell is this ugly old thing in the bulletproof white suitcase? Are those supposed to be cartridges? What's with all these cellophane sheets?" I ultimately passed on it. This was twenty years ago, and I STILL have footmarks on my ass from kicking myself.

I got my Odyssey from a collector for $60.00 shipped. He wanted it to go to a good home. I'm so glad I bought it, I'll likely never find it cheaper. I did find the Shooting Gallery complete with the gun for $10.00 at a garage sale last year which is one of my favorite finds ever.

I'd say the real gem is the Suburban Legends CD. If that's the original self-titled EP, it's excellent. I bought a copy from the band after seeing them at Downtown Disney back in 2001 and still have it. Their live show is unparalleled or at least it was at the time. Tons of stage energy.

It's their "Day Job" album. I saw them a few years ago with Reel Big Fish and they played great. Just didn't know any of their songs at the time. For a buck though there was no way I'd pass up the album.

Got a PS2 slim console only for $5  and these two genesis games to add to my collection for $35 for both. Both have cases  but no manual. The genesis games came from a reseller so wasn't the greatest deal but still good deal on some hard to find genesis games to fill my collection in.

Couldn't you always wait to find an sp in the $5 - 10 range with a bad screen to cannibalize? That way you'd end up with one good system and one salvage system left over, eh?

[attachment=14801:Games Lot.jpg]Got some AMAZING scores today at my local Flea Market...

The Arc The Lad book and extras complete the copy of the game I found at the SAME flea market a couple weeks ago!  *cheer*  Well, I don't have the big box...but yeah.

Thrilled about that, and about the Lunar: Silver Star Story book as well.

And Power Stone...  it was a good weekend for me.

Haven't been to the flea market in a few weeks, so decided to give it a go. Most were 2 bucks, nothing more then 3 dollars. Jigsaw Madness for the ps1 is sealed, Judge Dredd is the snes game with the label covered up.

20150719_114831.jpg

I guess i'll post this in here, this was a trade, but i used all the nes games i got at the flea market, plus some other games,

to get these games. The ps1 collection grows....

Are there any fellow CAGs in the Pasadena, CA area who want to hit up the Rose Bowl Flea Market this Sunday?  This thing is massive and I'd love to have some company whilst hunting.

PM me if you want to meet up!

Found a few goodies at a flea market out in the sticks

Mario Party 7 (GC) - $5

Summoner (PS2) - $2

Nano Breaker (PS2) - $2

Champions of Norrath (PS2) - $2

Evil Dead Regeneration (Xbox) - $5

Crash of the Titans (Wii) - $2

Wii Sports - $2

Browning African Safari (PC) SEALED - $1

So I've hit I heat a church flea market and my main flea market the past couple of weeks, and got some decent stuff!

These PS1 games were $0.50 at a church flea market up the street from me. Not great, but hey, it was only $3.

And the stuff below I picked up from my standard flea market about 30 minutes away (it's the only regular flea market near Baltimore worth a damn. Street Fighter and Scurge together were $13, Populous was $3, A Witch's Tale and Honeycomb beat were $5 together, and Monster Tale, Ninja Boy, Stop That Roach, FF Tactics Advance, and the label-less Pokemon Silver were $17 together.

Had another AMAZING day at my local flea market today!  I spent about $100 or so for everything and in my opinion, TOTALLY worth it.

First up, this bunch of strategy guides and manuals, and of course the PSOne in the center.  Virtually brand new, by the way, only the box is damaged.

Guides: $10

Manuals were included in an N64 lot for $60.

PSOne: $20

[attachment=16705:Guides & Manuals Lot 8.23.15.jpg]

Next up, this amazing N64 lot that I got for only $60!  Why yes, that is a gold Ocarina of Time cartridge!

[attachment=16707:N64 Lot 8.23.15.jpg]

Lastly, this set of vintage PC games I was able to grab for $11.  Pretty happy about these as they make me very nostalgic.

[attachment=16708:pC Lot 8.23.15.jpg]

Very good day for me today!

20150906_110018.jpg

Came out to under 25 bucks for everything. A buddy of mine that runs a booth just handed me all those ps1 games and plasma sword, and said "here, just take all this and give me five for it".

Had a pretty decent flea market haul today.

Skies of Arcadia (DC) x2 - $2 a piece!

Record of Lodoss War (DC) - $2

LoZ Link's Awakening (GB) - $8

Captain Toad Treasure Tracker (Wii U) - $8

Wii Sports Resort (Wii) - $3

Castlevania LoS 2 (360) - $9

I'm still shocked that I found 2 copies of SoA sitting right next to each other, what are the odds?  Anyway this is probably going to be my last flea market for the year so I might as well go out on a high note!

That's what I call finds, good stuff dude! Can we see the Skies of Arcadia(s), are they in good condition?

All I want to do is find Dreamcast stuff. I imagine that's why I never do lol. Nice finds! I just finished Skies of Arcadia for the first time a couple weeks ago.

It's pretty hard for anyone to find Dreamcast stuff. It was so easy to pirate for that most people didn't bother buying the actual games. Every time I see a good looking Dreamcast lot go up on Craigslist it always ends up being the console and a pile of CD-Rs. I'm glad I started collecting for it the day it came out because otherwise I would have been screwed. I haven't had a good Dreamcast find in years!

Here's a pic for you guys to drool over, lol.  Second copy is missing its manual but is otherwise in great shape!  Discs are a little scratched but nothing too major and they all seem to work fine (so far at least).

Need to catch up on finds. This is 2 weeks ago I think. NES games, genesis and ps1 games besides mega man turned out to

be 70 bucks after negotiating. Mega Man X4 came out to 10 and one of the NES game holders from a buddy

that sells at the flea market.

20151004_120421.jpg

This week wasn't as lucrative as the week before. NES games 5 bucks each, 3 for 5 bucks on the ps1 games, ds game and

german dino crisis 2 dollars each.

20151011_090421.jpg

PS1 games except for Treasure Planet came out to 45 bucks, Treasure Planet(sealed) and final fantasy 12(game blocked by sun)

were 2 for 5 dollars. NES games were 3 for 25

Saw a six switch 2600 for $250 over the weekend. Though they had other games, I didn't bother looking much after that. The place I went used to be merely the downscale Flea Market, which is saying something itself, but it's slid further down to people selling actual garbage. Utter dregs. Good luck on that Atari. Lol.
