Amazon Smile

CAGiversary!
Hey,

Not sure if the has been mentioned in here or not, but if you log in to Amazon through the AmazonSmile site, they donate .5% of all purchases made to the charity of your choice. .5% may not sound like a lot, but given the amount of merchandise that Amazon sells.....well, .5% becomes a VERY sizable amount of money. Since all you have to do is log in through a different Amazon homepage, one that looks 100% identical except for the Amazon logo in the top left corner (says AmazonSmile instead of just Amazon), there is really no reason why people shouldn't be taking advantage of this.

Here is the link

Some of the highlight charities include the ASPCA, World Wildlife Fund, Doctors Without Borders, Charity: Water, and St. Jude, but there are a LOT more to choose from. I am an animal lover so I choose the ASPCA.

Anyways, I figured I would post this up as again, all you have to do is log in to Amazon through their AmazonSmile homepage and .5% of your purchase will go to charity. Everyone should be doing this!!

Huh, that's pretty neat. Just checked to see if two of my favorite nonprofits were in there (the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund) and they are. Maybe I'll sign up for this, but I'm going to read up on it some more first. Seems like customers can't count donations as tax-deductable-- guessing those tax breaks are part of what Amazon's getting out of it
