Majora's Mask Edition n3DSXL - Is it available at all without a preorder?

TeaBisquit

CAGiversary!
I really want the MM version of the n3DS, otherwise, I don't really want to get one.  Are any retailers going to have stock available for walk-in pick-up?

And while I'm asking, how about for the LE Majora's Mask game?  I know that EB, BB, and FS all sold out immediately when they opened the item for preorder online.

Would go to a midnight opening or a morning-opening for these.

You are too late. If you want it, you will have to pay the scalpers who grabbed it all.

I've heard that there will be a second production of the 3DSs. But I imagine that it will be pre-order only as well.

Are we sure there's no walk-in stock at any retailers?

I would imagine some places would have a few on shelves tomorrow morning if you're quick enough. Why not call around and ask? I'm sure EB won't have any, but maybe try calling FS and BB or whoever else you have around?

I guess they're closed now. Maybe I'll just go to BB in the morning, skip class, and make a shopping trip out of it.

Nobody thinks Walmart would carry it? They usually stock most LE 3DS's that I've noticed, and don't do preorders AFAIK. Maybe it's worth a shot?

Yeah, I agree with Ragnar, Walmart would be a good bet to visit in the morning. I would also just honestly wait, especially if you're not even going to use the new features of the N3DS, because right now scalpers are selling the MM3DSXL for, like, $400-$500. Imagine if Nintendo decides to produce more units, like they're going to do with amiibo? You would spend twice the price of the system for instant collector's gratification? Nah, man, don't do that. And if Nintendo don't ship more in the future, well, I honestly don't see it costing more than $400-$500 a year or two from now on eBay. I just did a quick search on eBay for the Phantom Hourglass DS Lite, the Ocarina of Time 3DS, and the Link Between Worlds 3DS XL, and all have gone significantly down in price since release day scalpers' prices. Hardware is usually never as rare or pricey as software; I predict the Skull Kid figure from the Majora's Mask 3D LE will be worth more than the system itself in a few years time.

Not all Wal Marts carry the same items. This I know because the one closest to me didn't have the "NES" Edition. If you know the sku #, call the various stores to see if they have it. Don't expect the associates to know what you are looking for if they have no interest in video games.

The problem is Walmart isn't carrying it, so no stores, no matter where you're located will have it. Majora's Mask is Future Shop, Best Buy, EB, and Amazon only.
