The Konami E3 press conferences are sometimes great but probably not for the right reasons.  :p

Evolve is structured very close to a free-to-play game. It's a shame that it's a full $60 game. Either it should have everything in it for $60 or just be a cheap/free game.

Also I think there is a player progression of some kind contractory to what wombat said.

@CAGCast crew - Thanks for answering my question. It first sounded like Cheapy just didn't want to do it (lol) but I guess you should only invite people with proper audio equipment. You can also tell them to use Audacity. Sounds like Wombat is all for it so I'm glad at least one of the CAGCast crew is into the idea.

The one CAGcast host who has never edited a podcast.

Right. I know editing sucks and I've done it myself in Audacity. I thought you did a great job on the ones you worked on considering you had never edited a podcast before that.

To conclude, I get the hardships over having another guest and I know having 4 people on one podcast can be a little difficult to manage but again, I think the idea of a monthly guest or having a guest every 2 months would be a great idea. Have Wombat edit the episode. ;)

Great show guys.

While I get the frustration for people that wanted a Marth or Shulk or Wii Fit Girl or whatever....can you really blame Nintendo for not making tons of them?  If they did then they'd be sitting on the clearance racks 2 weeks after all the mega fans bought theirs.

Nintendo has a deserved rep for manufacturing scarcity, but I don't know how they are supposed to accurately know how many obscuro 3rd tier amiibos they are supposed to make.

Cheapy saying "I had sex and he came out" gave me a hilarious yet also horrifying mental image.

And this is why I can't stand Shipwreck. He loves knocking Wombat down. He's like a nerd bully. So weird.
If you were talking to a friend that said something blatantly wrong, you wouldn't call them out on it? That's all Ship is doing. It's Wombat's fault he has to do it so often.

It says something that the only collector of Amiibo on the CAGcast has never used them to play a game. The implementation is horrible.

I want to love Disney Infinity but they've put up so many barriers to enjoying the game. "Only this group of characters work with this $35 playset." Some don't work in any playsets, just the crappy ToyBox mode. (Even the best ToyBox levels, even those made by the devs, are terrible.) Take a cue from LEGO and once you beat the campaign of a set let us unlock a Free Play mode and let us play with whoever we want.

Hey, Cheapy. Have a movie recommendation for you.

It's a slightly depressing Russian film, though I'm not sure if you are into foreign movies or not. It's called Leviathan. It's pretty intense and the dialogue is fantastic.

Hope you are adjusting well to the NY city life, and, as always, thanks for the show, guys!

It still doesn't make any sense that you literally can't find any Amiibo that isn't the same handful every store has (because no one wants them and Nintendo keeps printing them). I personally want Mega Man really bad because he is one of my favorite characters, but I didn't pre-order it months in advance and now they are impossible to find unless I want to go out and hunt one down, which I don't have the time to do. Nintendo would get a lot more of my money with these things if they put out more of the characters I want to buy and stop with the retailer exclusive crap. I've gotten Samus, Link, Little Mac (which I had pre-ordered), and Peach. I'd have a lot more if they were easily accessible. I like the look of some of the figures and like to have them for my collection, definitely not for the purpose of reselling them on the internet like a douche.

I guess I should've preordered.. Only got a lousy 60 minute show. If I start preordering will I get longer shows? Or do I need the season pass? This situation is very confusing for me.

My Wal-mart pre-order got me 5 minutes of extra slow cooker talk.  Which I understand is going to be in the GOTY edition.

Wish I'd have ordered from Target instead, that one had an extra poop story and a Boatcrash Chronicles calendar.

WOMBAT IS NOT CRAZY, about this. There were two versions of the X-men Arcade game. A four player one, which let you select a character. and a six player cabinet that made you be at a certain spot to play a certain character. http://www.gamernoize.com/2011/07/06/konamis-4-player-x-men-arcade-machine/  vs. http://www.kotaku.com.au/2012/07/x-mens-giant-six-player-cabinet-was-an-arcade-marvel/   The six player version allowed more people to play, but if the buttons for Dazzler were stuck or if Nightcrawler's joystick was broken, you were out of luck for those characters.

The Peter Weller flick? That was awesome! "Say ahh, mother fucker!"

Guys youre such savings noobs.
All you have to do is preorder the game, get the dlc code, and return back to amazon.
Lol ive never met him but ive been listening since episode 73 and Im pretty sure that would be too much work for Cheapy lol i could be wrong though

I can tell Shipwreck hates the slow cooking talk so I dont want to keep trolling him about it. I do remember him doing something i think was called Dream Dinners a while ago oddly enough.

I could go into elaborate detail about the inner workings of the US Postal Service being an 18 year letter carrier too but I really doubt anyone wants to hear it. I have seen just about everything and I can say we have so many new hires and they are learning so its not uncommon for the mail to be messed up. It seems easy if youve never done it but many newbies quit their first couple weeks because its too hard and too much walking 6 days a week.

Not difficult at all to get Amiibos if you preorder. All of them were available to preorder for weeks on multiple websites. Same for the retailer exclusive ones (except for Rosalina).

Even now that everyone has Amiibo fever, it took several hours for the latest SMB line to sell out.

Nintendo said before the Amiibos came out that some of them were going to be limited, but even then, there has been plenty of time to pre-order Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Marth, Little Mac, Pit.

Also, Wal-Mart does not have a retailer-exclusive amiibo.

This is blatantly false. "Hours" is not an acceptable amount of time for something to be available for pre-order. If you are away from a computer or working, there is literally no opportunity for you to buy these amiibo.

Ship is right the Amiibo pre order is just stupid. There is no rhyme or reason when and where they go up and half the stores break street date anyway. Our TRU here was sold out of their exclusive a week before it was supposed to be sold. And the dumbest part is the overload of Amiibos everyone has. There are a million Mario Luigi Pikachu Peach maybe Zelda's everywhere ao its hard for me to believe they cant make enough

It's not false, don't accuse me of lying because just because you are bitter about this.

The first wave of Amiibos were available to pre-order for at least a month. The second wave that included Pit and Captain Falcon were available to pre-order for at least two weeks; before the first wave was even release. Lucario, Shulk, and Meta-Knight (the retailer-exclusive Amiibos) went up sometimes in late November and were available until mid-december.

I know this because not only I was able to pre-order most of my collection but so were several of my friends and co-workers who pre-ordered their items later.

Yes, the pre-orders sold out weeks before the items were released, but before that, they were available for a long time. If you care that much, keep up with the news, the same way you kept up with the news about the Mortal Kombat Collector's Edition bundle and asked Wombat to keep an eye on it for you.

The only Amiibo that had a botched pre-order time window was the Target exclusive Rosalina figure. Pre-order for that one was literally available for just a few minutes, the site got hit so hard that Target decided to release most of their stock in stores.

All I am saying, is if you go with the idea that the main Nintendo characters will always be there, and the more obscure ones are "limited" the concept of pre-ordering them is not crazy. We just have "hours" to pre-order most "limited"/"collector's edition" games.

I feel like they shouldn't put a release date on the amiibos instead give out the time when they will go on preorder and say they are very limited.

I agree with this. Lots of things could be handled better, and clarifying release date/pre-order availability is one of them.

I just don't think it's been as difficult as everyone makes it seem, especially in today's world where we all have smartphones. A lot of my pre-orders on my phone after I saw someone talking about it on Twitter.

I think some people did not pre-order right away because they expected for most of these to be readily available because they didn't think Amiibos would sell like this. I guess it was difficult to gauge the demand for the non-main Nintendo characters, they were never available before.

Wombat, you will like The Wolf Among Us. I have played both TWAU and both seasons of the Walking Dead and it is not even close to being TWD levels of depressing. Dark, yes, like you said, but not depressing.

I wish I could use the Club Nintendo coins as a discount. I only have 310 coins since I only have 3 3DS games and I'd totally get NSMB2 like Wombat did but it costs 600. Any worthwhile game costs 600+.

The prize that the guy was going to get for "winning" Curiosity was that he was pretty much going to be god in the Godus game. Like he would set rules and things and be able to affect the game for everyone playing. At least that's what I had gathered from it back when it was news.

I watched Thor 2 before seeing Guardians. I can say that the only reason to watch Thor 2 is that the little after-the-credits bit has some foreshadowing for Guardians. But since Shipwreck already saw Guardians, then it's kind of pointless. It's not necessarily a bad movie, but it's not anything special. I still have to see Cap 2 myself.

Dig Dug is $5 on the Wii U eShop, not $1. It's only that cheap if you bought it previously on the Wii Shop and did the transfer to the Wii U, so whoever said that was misleading about its price.

Halo: Master Chief Collection has something like seven different engines running within its package (2 for Halo, 2 for Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 4, and the overall MCC engine). I can't imagine it's easy to fix bugs with all of the potential issues that can pop up with that many "moving parts" in there.

Driveclub works just fine. I think the only issue they're working on at this point is expanding the server functionality to be able to handle the load that the PS+ edition will throw at it.

I actually just started New Super Mario Bros. 2 myself, after snagging a sweet deal on our(?) very own forums!  I'm hating it a lot less than I thought I would, and am actually kinda relieved that Wombat's enjoying it too and I'm not crazy.  Two and-a-half years after the fact, I don't mind that it's more of the same; maybe the collective feeling among the masses would've been similar if they'd spaced out the releases of the New series a little more.

(Also, who wouldn't want to be three inches from Cheapy's face?)

I disagree. I wanted to pre-order Mega Man in January and he was unavailable. I don't think I should have to jump on a pre-order as soon as it become available, especially for Amiibo figures. All of these figures should be in ample supply at release, but figures like Pit, Mega Man, Captain Falcon, etc. are impossible to find. You see Mario, Yoshi, Kirby, Bowser, Lugi, etc. everywhere all the time. Granted they were available for much longer than a few hours, but they still weren't available for any long term amount of time and none of them are special editions aside from the few retailer exclusives. I understand that the Majora's Mask CE is hard to find now and sold out quickly, but it's a CE! The Mega Man Amiibo isn't a special edition and I shouldn't be seeing it available on Amazon for $45, at that price I might as well buy a nicer Mega Man figure for around $50-$60. I legitimately want the Amiibo to use with Smash Bros. though, but no way in hell will I pay more than retail price for these things.

I agree that NewWombat is hard to remember and distinguish from just Wombat. How about changing your Twitter handle to WombatU?

New Sponsor?!?  Life Insurance!  Nice job...yes if you are married and or have kids this is a NECESSITY!  Don't leave you spouse or kids in financial distress if disaster strikes!

Great job guise!

Yes Life insurance is a dreaded topic lol. I hate buying stuff for after im dead but we all need it. Have to be careful with whole life policies i found. They sell it to you as an extra savings account but they do t tell you that as you get older your premiums go up and they juat take the money out of that account. Could have just been my federal policy but i was hella pissed when i found out

Whole life policies are crap. Never ever ever for any reason buy that product. The only peoplw making money are the agents and the company. 20-30 year term...cheap simple easy.

Wombat selling life insurance to the 12 year old listeners of the show. Hilarious. Next week's sponsor -- Tampax! Go to tampax.com/cheapyd to get 10 free applicators and a FREE PlayStation TV!

Yeah!! While I was listening I was like, "Oh yeah I've seen that machine." And Ship was all, "Nuh uhhhhh, you're crazy." It was at a place called Level Up Games in Whitewater, WI. Looked really cool I'd love to give it a try. Think there was also one at Cedar Point, Ship should go check their arcade since he's nearest lol.

Wombat, stand up to your bitch wife and go to E3 even though Shipwreck hates you. At least he loves to hate you.
Joking or not, you oughtn't deride someone's wife like that, kid. I don't see how you're not banned for that already.

And yes, Wombat, Wolf Among Us is excellent. In my opinion, it's better than any of the Fables comics.

Yes i agree i started working at the post office at 19 and was too young and dumb and signed up for one. I cancelled it when i was 29 when i finally realized what a crock it was and went for a term policy

During the Dig dug divorce discussion, how did no one say that they got divorced because:

A.  She was no longer digging Doug, or

B.  She found a new Mr. Driller.

These are the type of one-liners that are right in Wombat's wheelhouse.

I was thinking the same thing, way out of line.

I just recently started playing the Wolf Among US myself and it's easily my favorite TT game. Great story and characters.

Thanks so much for talking about gamersclub unlocked! I had forgotten I was a member.

I just saved a ton of money preordering Mortal Kombat X between the 20% off, a cert i had left over and a giftcard a relative didnt finish using. $34 on release day woohoo. Playing as Goro will be sweeet

Also ty to the cags who gave the heads up to renew 2 years ago for $15. Renewed it entirely with a cert.

I also passed on Evolve. I think it looks like a kller game and the 4v1 is an awesome idea. But i'll wait for the goty version with more of the dlc included. I already spend vast amounts of time on Destiny.

I'm betting The Order 1886 will be getting some steep pricecuts this year with all the negative publicity its been getting. I think they failed to market the game's value. I'll bite at the 30$ mark if its a 7-11 hour quality campaign. Perhaps they should have lowered the price to $40 or $50 on release. Money is tight and it's hard to justify big purchases with all the free ps plus games if i dont know ill be spending alot of time with them. Even the early reviews i've read now said it's only a good value if you beat it and sell it back. It's conflicting because they did a quality job on the psp god of war and it's probably a pretty good game. I just have a feeling it's going to get pricecut fast.
