Hey guys ,

I have been getting a lot of new buyers with 0 feedback buying my stuffs for the past several weeks.

All of them have gibberish ebay ID. Some examples:

lje3sd328-sjrrvwkwyu
thepo-ad-h9vkzgaflp
fem731d0_fctom03
ttrddola-m41h08
thod.n6dif8

Just wondering if guys are getting this too because I just received two chargebacks through PayPal with buyers with gibberish ID.

Thanks.

If you purchase something through eBay for the first time WITHOUT creating a username/ID first then eBay will auto generate one for you that looks like the above.

Oh I see. I just found out guests can buy through eBay without registering.

I'm fighting the case right now. Just provided PayPal with proof of shipment and receipt. Both cases were for unauthorized transaction. My funds ($69.98) are in hold at the moment. Tracking showed delivered for both items.

Thanks for the response.

I'm an expert on fighting those. If you run into problems refer the PP agent to section 11.3C of the PayPal User Agreement. As the seller you ONLY need to show proof of shipment to be protected against an unauthorized use chargeback (although proof of delivery certainly helps).

They're pretty straight forward but in typical PP fashion they will try and find any excuse to not rule in your favor and sadly many sellers just get so frustrated they walk away and let PP keep their money

About 40% of my sales are gibberish usernames. I rarely get chargebacks though. As long as you can prove shipment to Paypal, you should be safe.
