registration broken?

I tried to sign up for an account today via the 'normal' way (I guess you could call it that).  but every time it kept telling me the captcha code I entered was incorrect.  I tried this about 6 times, and on 2 different browsers. ff and ie11 and got the same result.

 eventually I just signed up with my seldom-used twitter account.

Hmm, tried registering a test account but had no issues - which browser were you using?

Since your browsers are up to date, you may want to clean the cache out on them. Sometimes that will cause iness and things won't work correctly.

Since you're already signed up, what's it matter?

just bringing it to someone's attention.  thanks for the unhelpful personal opinion though.
