I was in-store the day they announced this and a clerk told me that it was US exclusive, but I guess not. $124.99, when it's $99.99 in the States, well, it stings. If you're an MGS fan wanting the Konami Style (Japan) exclusive Premium Package, well, that's gonna sting a whole lot more; Play-Asia are currently selling the XB1 and PS3 versions for $500 USD/$620 CAD.

The CE has yet to show up on Amazon or the other major Canadian retailers' sites, but I'll update this post if they do.

Hrm, I don't really need an ugly backscratcher I'll literally never take out of the box. But I threw in a preorder in case this pre-sells out shortly and becomes worth hundreds of $$.

If this is still available a week from release, expect mass pre-order dumping. EB had to mark the MGS4 LE down to $10 IIRC just to get rid of them all.

though the LE still maintained it value pretty well in the longrun. With a series like MGS collectors editions are usually collectable in the longrun.

Ebgames Canada now sells it for $134.99 CAD, including in stores.

good reason to order from Amazon Canada at $124.99 CAD now.... they could raise price .

fucking EB (and our dollar).

Future Shop have the CE for PS4 and XB1 at $124.99 right now. Best Buy only have the CE for XB1 currently. I'll update the OP later with these links.

 
Yeah, the price raise is interesting for EB. There seems to be no reason for it, other than greed. Glad I pre-ordered it from them for 124.99.

I haven't seen any scalpers for the CE yet on Kijiji in my area, but that'll probably change over time. I know Ebay already has them listed for twice the amount in the US and Australia. Damn shame, this is the game that I upgraded to PS4 for; I would be out of my mind if I missed the opportunity to buy the CE at a decent price.

Did you order from them in store? Because you have to be careful when picking it up. They love to be asses and try and charge their current price on pickup. They have no in-store policy on price protection. Sometimes the internet will backlash and force them to set product specific rules, but YMMV on your clerk knowing. Sometimes clerks will make up random rules, like you only get price protection if you paid in full when preordering. It's a giant clusterfuck.

No, I ordered from EB games site, since it was up before anything else. I think it's getting shipped to me. The ten dollars isn't really a bother, I'm just worried I would lose my pre-order somehow, and then have contemplate dealing with scalpers. Nintendo's amiibos and Majora's Mask have scarred me...

They're not trying to trick you, or anything. Past pricing information simply isn't in their computers; store associates have no idea what the listed price was when you pre-ordered, they only know what the current price is.

 
Giving this a bump, cause I just noticed. It's actually selling out. The PS4 version is gone everywhere. The Xbone version is still around up here. But if you check US sources that's all soldout too, so those should be drying up shortly.

 
So, I was thinking of dumping my preorder, because as we're drawing closer to release I've simply been feeling apathetic about MGSV. I glanced at eBay. Apparently I'm alone in that opinion. This thing is fetching an average around $200USD, wow...

 
It'll likely be, objectively, Game of the Year. I have, though, been looking more and more forward to The Taken King, but I'll still be getting The Phantom Pain next month. It would probably take an insane amount of bad reviews for me to drop the CE and stick with my E3 pre-order from last year.
