Anyone see this?

I saw it on Friday in RPX... Pretty good movie... Some scenes are a little intense and the ending opens up the possibility of a sequel.

I read somewhere that the director intended this movie to be the last of his "trilogy" movies that deal with oppression and such. With the new Alien movie now being his new focus, the sequel to District 9 is being put on hold. Elysium could have been pushed away and the D9 sequel could have been made in it's place.

There's a trilogy planned, if it does well.

Just checked this movie out with my dad and I have to say it was better than I expected. Much different than I remember from the trailer though. Characters I expected to like, I didn't and vice versa. I'd definitely consider this a good film because it kept my dad entertained and we went late at night so if the movie was the least bit boring, my dad would've caught some Zs during the film. I'd definitely recommend it to others, especially sci-fi fans.

Yeah, pretty good but most theaters have already pushed it down to one showing...so most likely in another week it will be gone.

I watched it too with my pops. He and I loved District 9 and we thought this movie would be cool too. It really was and we couldn't figure out why the movie got such bad reviews online. It was interesting to read about how Die Antwoord had problems with the director and others on the set and how the voice of Chappie was Sharlto Copley (District 9). I have recommended it to all of my friends, but it doesn't seem like they care too much about watching it... Shame
