Do you sell your games or collect them?

I'm sitting here looking at all my games and I can't tell whether I should keep them or sell them, being realistic with myself I know that most of my games I will never play again but on the other hand ... I know that if I sell some of my games that I will regret it eventually. What do you guys do with your games? Do you sell them to buy more games or collect them?

Me personally, I keep mine. Although if you ask my wife I'm a hoarder (I prefer collector).

I don't hold onto them for chances of them being an investment one day, but I would rather keep a game that I paid 65 dollars for rather than sell it for half that, although buy back prices on games have improved.

With digital content being the wave of the future, you never know what solid physical copies of certain games might be worth one day. I still have a sealed copy of Ocarina of Time 3DS and I had no idea that its value had doubled until just recently. Even regular copies of classic games may one day be considered collectibles with gaming inching towards all digital day by day.

If you do decide to part with them you may have better odds of getting a better deal in a trade rather than a flat out sale. I say hang onto them though, if nothing else it is something to leave my kid(s) one day. :)

I try to sell bad games, and keep good ones.  But even some "good" games have terrible replay value.  I sold Super Mario 3D World because it felt too easy.

I sold/traded most of my 360/PS3 games and even found myself buying the same games more then once. So far with XboxOne/PS4, I've managed to keep most off them and that's what I plan to do. I traded a few to Walmart when they had promos, where I actually received more then I paid for the games. I might trade in order sport games or something like that, but besides that I plan to keep all mine. I currently have 34 PS4 games and 8 Xbox One games. Out of the 42 games I own, about 18 of them are still sealed. I also have multiple digital games for each platform, with GamesWithGold/PS+/EAaccess my digital library continues to grow also.

Really though it just comes down to personal preference. If you want to trade in older games, that way newer games are cheaper for you. Or if you don't mind paying more for newer games, that's good too.

I recently found a website called GameLock, where you purchase a game, and it will tell you a BuyBack amount. You have 60 days to send the game back for that amount. Might be worth looking into for certain games. Some newer games were around $56, with a BuyBack of $40. With that you basically rent the game for $26 for two months. Which is cheaper then say Redbox or Blockbuster(RIP).

What ever you chose, the choice is yours and yours alone. Hopefully something helps you out or gives you an idea of what you want to do.

Sorry for rambling....

I use to buy games for the purpose of playing them but the backlog grew to damn huge. So now I'm just looking at my games and thinking when and if I'll ever get to playing these one day.

I sell anything with no replay value or anything mainstream since it's guaranteed to drop in price like a rock & be easily available for pennies years later.
I keep niche titles, jrpgs, & games with local co op [fighting] those hold value or i play often with friends/brother split screen all the time
