while i dont have pictures. i just upgraded from the GTX Geforce 770 to the MSI 970. Sold the 770 and got the 970 at microcenter for a pretty good price. Your rig is pretty beast though.

I just swapped out my Radeon 6950 for a Asus Nvdia 970 this week. The part I'm most proud of is the case. It has 8 case fans and is extremely quiet. All hard drives except the SSD can be accessed through the front drive cage or the case swing door on the bottom. I'm keeping this case forever. The only drawback is I need a handtruck to move it because it's so heavy.

Azza Hurrican case

Core i7-3770 quad core 3.4GHz LGA 1155

Asus P8Z77-V PRO LGA 1155HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX

G.Skill ARES 16GB 2 x 8GB 240-pin SDRAM DDR3 1600 ( PC3 12800)

Asus STRIX 970 4GB

Samsung 840 pro 256GB SATA 6Gb/s SSD

WD Black 3TB  64MB cache

Corsair Enthusiast  CMPSU-850TX 850W

6 assorted hard drives for media storage totalling 8.5TB

My cabling sucks but try see how yours would look with 8 hard drives.

Yeah, I think so too.  I always worry about hardware getting dinged up via shipping, but I was able to get a lot this stuff pretty cheap at Microcenter, so that assuaged a little bit of that worry.  I recently went through a 3-month nightmare troubleshooting/RMA/complete lack of customer service hell with a pre-build from Digital Storm.  But I was able to finally get my money back, so as long as the new system keeps running the way it has been, it'll just further solidify that I should have just went with building on my own in the first place.  I've had no problems so far!

pre-builds are crap, they always try to cut corners in different part, like the brand quality of psu/motherboard/

To be fair to what I think they are trying to achieve with their "custom pre-builds," all the components I had in my defective machine were fine quality (Asus mobo, EVGA GPU, Corsair PSU and RAM, etc.). It was more the customer service aspect of that situation that was bad, since they essentially refuse to help you if you have a problem.  But yeah, lesson learned.  Looking forward to trying out all those high res Skyrim mods.

No pic, but here's what's in it:

Rosewill BlackHawk-Ultra Full Tower Gaming Computer Case, support up to HPTX MB, Support Dual PSU, come with 8 cooling Fans

MSI Big Bang-XPower II LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 XL ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

CORSAIR XMS3 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Desktop Memory Model CMX16GX3M4A1333C9

Intel Core i7-3820 Quad-Core Processor 3.6 GHz 10 MB Cache LGA 2011 - BX80619I73820

LG Black 6X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 6X BD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA Internal Blu-ray Burner 6X Blu-ray Disc Burner & HD DVD-ROM Drive Model GGW-H20L - OEM

EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Classified K|NGP|N Edition

The rest was taken from 2 other computers.  One the motherboard died and the other was just old.  I took the hard drives from them as they still worked and the LG DVD drive that I put in the one.  I planed on doing a lot of gaming on this new one, but that really hasn't happened much.  The quality and support from EVGA has me tempted to do an all EVGA build when/if I ever build another PC.

Alright, well due to the generosity of a CAG who gave me one of his old CPU/MOBO combos for free (I just had to pay shipping, how awesome is that?) I was able to recently upgrade.  It was doubly cool because my old MOBO was failing leading to all my USB ports resetting (including my WIFI adapter) every 20 minutes, so online gaming was a pain.

This is a work in progress.  The new stuff is an AMD FX-6300 and Gigabyte 970A-UD3P MOBO.  I wanted to overclock so I bought a used Cooler Master V8 CPU cooler on ebay.  Unfortunately, it did not come with the AMD mounting brackets so I am waiting for those to go back in stock on the Cooler Master website to order them and actually be able to install the sucker.  The case is a Cooler Master Cosmos which I got for free from a guy who took pity on me on Craig's List.  The new install was a breeze and if there's one great thing about Windows 8 is that you can swap out hardware without having to reinstall.

Also new to my set up is a monitor mount that allows me to swivel.  I got it using the Amazon Prime Now coupon.  I've had this monitor for almost 10 years now and always wished the stand would let me tilt the screen slightly forward.  This mount does that and it is great and also clears up space on my small computer desk.  Overall, very happy with the build and can't wait to be able to install the cooler so I can overclock.  I'll be doing the cable management once I install the cooler.

Also, if anyone has any tips on possibly finding some brackets that will fit the V8 and allow me to install it sooner, please let me know.  I called Cooler Master and the rep told me they would restock, but I don't know if I trust them.

OMG that cable "management"  I know you're fixing it later; that kraken of wires still jumps out at you.

Awesome that you had that sort of generosity from everyone.  I tried to look around the net about that bracket but came up empty.

You know, it actually wasn't half bad until I installed all the fan controllers.  Those are a mess themselves and I have one for three of the 4 fans plus an adapter that lets me plug all three into the same port on the MOBO.  For some reason I probably think those wires are either unnecessary or I could handle the fan control in other ways, but until I figure that out the kraken will remain.

Well, even wrapping up the slack with a little electrical tape or small zip ties would help but I get that you don't want to be snipping zip ties a week later to rearrange for the CPU cooler.

Here's a belated picture of my system.  Every time I take a photo of it, I half regret not painting the inside of the case but I just wanted to get it up and running at the time.  I also originally had more blue LED fans before making the decision that fans that worked were better than fans that glowed blue and replaced them as they died.  Down to just one left.  There's two fans hidden behind the front panel of the case and another hidden under the top panel.

Yay!

I'll post my builds when I get home. Have a couple of rigs (main PC, and a Plex server) plus I should be able to piece together my living room SteamBox once I settle on a new case (I'm getting tired of waiting for the Fractal Design Node 202 to be released and I really need room for a 3.5" drive anyways).

Confession time - I love a bargain like most people but I'm not very Cagly with hardware. I spent more on a case than some people do on a GPU.

Fox - that Cosmos case is belting. You did well there.

Disclaimer:

a) we moved house recently so my study/gaming den isn't quite up to scratch yet. I need a new desk and the walls need sorting out;

b) it's on the carpet but I have a million dust filters and we're going with floorboards soon so calm down Bruticis, deep breaths big man;

c) the case LED (several colours) is actually white, but it looks pinkish on the photo. I can also be pink, amusingly.

you are going to have to spend some real money on cooler master evo 212, otherwise just stick with stock cooler

The V8 will be just fine once I get the brackets.  It'll be a little noisier than the Evo, but otherwise should handle the cooling just fine.

Edit:

And I'll be diddly darned!  I chatted with a different CSR today and he added stock for the V8 Accessories kit for me and I just ordered it!  So I should be able to install that bad boy and rid my case of the cable kraken soon!
