I've had US bank for almost 10 years now but this is the first time I've had to deal with their CS for anything serious.
My card number (not card itself) was recently stolen and they were so ing incompetent about the entire process. They traced a fake "test" transaction but decided not to do anything about it... and let there be another $600 leave my account. Took over 1 hour and 10 minutes to get my card cancelled.
I need a new bank, and as much as I would like a smaller bank or credit union, I often receive/give money to my parents who live across the country... so it's convenient for both parties to be able to have one bank we can use.
Anyone have any recommendations of a bank they're happy with? I'm not really looking for anything as long as it has free checking or checking fees waived with direct deposit/minimal balance, no stupid/crazy fees, and has customer service that doesn't suck.
I was thinking about Chase but really don't know since I've never had any other banks.
