I will very likely pick this up but that doesn't make me any less annoyed with the laziness of all these ports/remasters. It at the very least better be priced like DmC at $40 or less.

 
WTF

This game doesn't need any remastering. If anything, I would have liked at least Ascension to be included for the MP.

Guess this is more for the ps4 audience that skipped the ps3 ... ala TLoU remastered. But at least that game actually benefitted from a smoother MP upgrade.
 
They're getting so lazy with the remasters that even the cover is the same as the original.

 
Ever since The Master Chief Collection was announced I just laugh at these "Remasters" that include only one game up scaled to 1080p / 60 FPS. If Microsoft can put four full games up scaled to 1080p / 60FPS in one package including Halo 2 completely remade for Xbox One and run the multiplayer on dedicated for basically five different games, the least Sony can do is package all four console God of War games on  one disc  up scaled to 1080p  / 60FPS.

And charging $40 is just comical.

That being said I'll probably pick this up when it hits $10.

Seems to be hit or miss according to some on a different forum. It is nice that they gave Halo 3 to everyone who suffered through one of the worst launches in gaming history though.

As for GOW, I do agree that they should have included the whole series instead of just 3. That would've been awesome.

It is still very unreliable and at launch was certifiably broken. Even MS admitted it was broke. I'm not defending Sony's actions here but don't make MS the white knight by trying to plug a broken/rushed product.

All I'm saying is that is that MCC was a good value despite the fact that it was definitely rushed and broken at launch. And it's not only Sony that is guilty of doing this. Capcom just released DMC for $40 on PS4 and XB1 and I believe they intend to do the same thing with Devil May Cry 4.

I honestly haven't had problems with multiplayer since January.

HD reRemastered with Remastered Remastering.

But it's pretty lazy to only have GoW 3 on a disc by itself. If they wanted to make it an event then they should have made it every GoW game to date on one disc

Agreed although they did the same thing last generation; first it was GoW 1 and 2 remastered from PS2 to PS3; then Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta remastered from PSP to PS3 then it was those four games and GoW 3 all put into one collection.

They should either A) remaster everything and do a true collection or B) remaster just GoW 3 but add in extra content

 
Im interested, i love God of War games. I hope it comes with some extras, like all the alternate outfits already on disc. Also would be sweet if it came with a PS4 dynamic theme. I still hope that there will be news on a new God of War game this E3. But id love to replay this game on PS4.

I'm always up for GoW and yeah, this is aimed towards people who never had a PS3. Still, I agree this is a waste with just GoW3... would have been nice to have the entire series, even if the PS2/PSP games wouldn't look as good, it would be nice to have them in full 1080p60. 

But overall, I wish Sony would do something more with the visual improvements in their Remasters. Yes, LoU Remastered looks damn nice, but then I look at stuff like GTAV, TR DE, and Type-0 and am left wanting more from LoU. LoU already had the added benefit of being one the best looking games of the last gen thanks to the detail so 1080p actually did help quite a bit... GoW3 looks nice, but it's due to scale rather than detail so don't think it'll look as good. 

 
But GoW3 isn't even that old!  I thought it looked fine on PS3 when it originally came out...  I think companies now are getting too remake/remaster happy (I'm fine with older ones, but GoW3 - come on).

 
2015 is 'hd remastered' year. no way i pay over $15 for any remastered version. waits for 6 months or year it'll drop down $15 or less. whenever ps5 coming out we will see 4D HD Remastered version over again.

More like PS4/XB1 are HD Remaster machines. It was cool when they ported PS2 games over the PS3 like Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, and God of War 1 & 2, but this shit is becoming too much. And most everything that is new can be played on the PS3 still (Destiny, Shadow of Mordor, Watch_Dogs, etc). I hope this generation picks up some steam. 2 years in and it's still mostly all PS3 Remasters with games like Arkham Knight and Bloodborne breaking up the monotony

 
Start of PS3 and 360 had their share of cross gen games too. Mostly PS2 and PS3 though. It makes sense as a company to release their big games cross gen to start since you can't ignore those large install bases.

True, but I don't recall it going on for almost 2 years. I get that games are getting more and more expensive to make, but a time will have to come when you just cut the cord and move on. For crying out loud, the PS4 sold 20,000,000 units (actually typed out the whole number to give it a little more impact). I think Metal Gear 5 will do just fine on the PS4 without the PS3 version dragging off it's ankles.

It also gives little to no incentive to buy the next gen. I'm sure as shit not going to get an Xbox One because the 2 big Xbox games (Titanfall and the upcoming timed-exclusive Tomb Raider) are also coming to the 360. This is why I give credit to Rocksteady for saying "fuck the PS3, we're focusing on making a NEXT-GEN game"

 
Well depends on the company. Hell EA was still putting Madden out for PS2 up till Madden 12. Fifa 14 came out for PS2 lol.

Honestly after this year, you'll prob see more games be current gen only. Like you said they install base is big enough for both now that it shouldn't be an issue. Though you might still see Xbox360/Xbox one cross gen just because they base isnt as large as ps4 and the 360 base is still really huge in the USA.

Sony has done 2 Remasters, TLoU and now God Of War III and One cross gen with Little Big Planet but at least most of their stuff has been "Next Gen Only" , Knack, Killzone, Infamous, The Order, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4 and Ratchet and Clank.

Same for Microsoft really.

Problem was that Last of Us and GTAV sold really well that they are not stopping any time soon.  Third party will cont to milk it Payday 2, Dark Souls 2, FFX and Batman HD remake.

 
These remasters are so stupid, unless the game actually expands.

Halo Anniversary last gen was excellent.  MCC had the make up of what could be great but was shattered by horrific netcode.  Even the campaigns lag like crazy with just 1-3 other people.  Other than that though, the game is quite a package.  If it wasn't such a huge debacle it would have been the best remaster collection ever.
