Congrats on 400 episodes guys.  I've been with you almost since the very beginning and have rarely ever missed a podcast.  I've listened to you guys while training for two marathons, while on vacation road trips, and often when I should be working.  You've probably done more to keep me informed on the video game industry than any other single source and I still look forward to hearing the show every week.  Here's to 400 more!

That Sony TV service sounds over priced and terrible but allow me to play devils advocate.

Most of the country has literally one choice for their cable provider. If PS Television can deliver the same thing at least you now have an option and maybe one day the cable companies will have to compete with these streaming services on price (which will in turn drive the streaming prices down?). THIS service isn't going to be a success but it might be a sign of better things on the horizon. Where you get your internet from muddies the argument up a bit and I don't know how to fix that. Hopefully these fiber providers take off or something.

I recently got a job at a casino and noticed the Konami slot machines, I assume they make a good amount from those. Side note Bally makes most of the other slot machines.

Congrats on the 400 episodes! Wished I lived near NYC, I would definitely go to a CAG meetup.

$200 on a keyboard that lights up??  LED lights for the INSIDE of your computer??

It's time you retired the name "CheapyD" and go with something more appropriate, like "SpendyD".       O:)

Congrats on 400 episodes!

Congrats on 400!

Shipwreck, go for the Framemeister. I have one, plus SCART cables for my Saturn and Jag, and it really does look awesome.

Congrats to Cheapy, Wombat and Ship on reaching 400.  Thanks so much for making my commutes more bearable each week.

400 congrats... Big fan big fan. Hey Cheapy don't drink NYC tap water. Studies of municipal water supplies show all the drugs New Yorkers take end up in the water supply from their excretions. The particles are too small to filter out and you are getting micro doses of antidepressants, anti psychotic, anti hypertensives, etc etc. and new Yorkers are super drugged up. For 10 year anniversary do something in Manhattan and I can make it.

Awesome, thanks Wombat about RE codes. I have been listening since 2006 so quite a while, weird I have been here for almost 10 years!

Congrats on 400! Think we'll ever see CAG Foreplay again?!

Smite me up! I'd also like to play Resident Evil Revelations Episodes 3 and 4

You guys can just go to the Dave & Buster's at Times Square to celebrate. They have the new Star Wars Battle Pod and on Wednesdays the games are 50% off.

I haven't owned a Nintendo system since SNES.  But if they launched a new system in 2017 that had better specs than their competition AND could be backwards compatible with WiiU games, they would have my attention.

Better specs and equal 3rd party support seems like a pipe dream though, tbh.

I bought a $100 mechanical lightup keyboard but just exchanged it for a $160 mechanical lightup keyboard because the first one was only green but this one can be whatever color I want. Building a new computer makes you do dumb things.

Wombat was right about DeNA. After 400 episodes it's still amusing when Cheapy automatically assumes Wombat is wrong about something, when in fact he's correct and it's Cheapy who is wrong. Especially when it's something to do with Japan.

DeNA Co., Ltd. (株式会社ディー・エヌ・エー Kabushikigaisha Dī-Enu-Ē?) (pronounced "DNA") is a provider of mobile portal and e-commerce websites based in Japan.

Was just coming here to post that myself.

Episode #401 show feedback Wombat gloat engage!

On top of that, they need to sort out the way they manage user ID across systems. One of the main reasons I never got a 3DS was because of the ridiculous account locked to system BS. It's 2015 Nintendo..

Wouldn't Nintendo run into the same problem they did with the WiiU where their new machine has better specs than the competition at the time of release but everyone is waiting for the next Sony and MS consoles which will have even better specs than the new Nintendo machine?

This is assuming of course that the current gen does not last as long as the previous gen.

I loved how the guys complained about the PlayStation Vue's price and Cheapy making the ridiculous statement that Apple would get it right (because Apple is known for their reasonable pricing) all while ignoring that Sling TV debuted this week. $20 a month for a "basic cable" package. You get a month free trial if you sign up through your Xbox One.

The Wii U didn't have better specs than the competition at the time. It had comparable specs to the Xbox 360 and PS3. Which is why many techies and gamers dismissed it with much more powerful consoles coming just a year later. Nintendo was doing the same thing they did with the Wii. The hardware was out of date but they were counting on the gimmick selling the system. The Wii U GamePad didn't become the same sort of fad motion controllers were.

I guess I always thought of it as being slightly better than the 360 and PS3, though not a huge leap from those two machines. I just did a quick reading of some sites and there seems to be disagreements on if it is any more powerful - I'm definitely not a tech wizard. Haha! So, I'll go with it being comparable.

That said, what should Nintendo's goals tech-wise be with their next system? Should their goal be comparable to or slightly more powerful than the current gen? Or, should it be to come out with a system they think will match up with Sony and Microsoft's next iteration?

Yet another good show guys! =D

I've been a constant listener since about episode 130 or so! Good job on the milestone and can't wait for the eventual 10 year anniversary episode!

Also, "Harass Wombat"...lol! I'll definitely take one of those Episode 3 & 4 Revelations 2 codes for PS4 if you still have any! =D

Keep on thriving dudes!

EDIT: Speaking of which, Pro Evolution Soccer is huge in Europe and in America...even then, remember Yu-Gi-Oh TCG and video games are basically owned by Konami and THAT is a HUGE Goldmine! I wouldn't be surprised that's all they need to keep themselves afloat and comfortable in the long term!

The cop game that Cheapy wants is exactly what L.A. Noire was, but I guess he considers that to be a bad game even though I wouldn't call it that.

You don't need a special controller for Xbox One to get voice controls without Kinect. Just let people connect their headsets to the normal controller and talk into its mic like the PS4 offers. It shouldn't be that hard for Microsoft to do that.

I don't think Hideo Kojima is going to get picked up by anybody, as he'll probably create his own studio with his KojiPro team and make independent games and probably some work with publishers here and there.

Yeah if Nintendo can put or a machine Holiday 2016 that is similar enough to the current consoles archetecturally that they too could start getting ports of all the games, more powerful than those consoles which seem to be getting outpaced by the PC even faster than usual, and can play Wii U games they might really be onto something. Make the Pro Controller the default and sell gamepads at retail for those who want to use those features of their wii u games.

I'm probably asking for too much, aren't I?

Congratulations and thanks on the 400 episodes! I'm a relatively new listener (for about 2 years), but you guys are always a pleasure listening to. And I gotta say, Batman IS probably one of the best superheroes!

Smite me up!

Congrats on 400!  I've been listening since around 2006 or so - episode 40-something?

Anyway, I think Nintendo is testing their phone games with Pokemon Shuffle.  The game is great, but it only lets you play a few rounds before it asks you to either wait 30 minutes or pay some absurd amount for hearts to keep going.  It has me hooked with my gotta catch 'em all addiction but I can't stand the micro-transactions.

Grats on 400, even if it isn't the biggest milestone to come. I can't remember the very first episode I listened to, but I do remember that I started listening regularly only in Nov. 2011. (For some reason I listened to one or two eps like months or maybe years before this but it didn't stick.) Episode 262, Happy Thankskrymming. I only remember that because I still think the name is ridiculous.

I have to throw in my 2 cents here and say a keyboard with LEDs is not useless. I've used keyboards with LEDs for about 8 years now and I definitely would not want to go back. Now, a caveat - the customizable colors that Cheapy's has is certainly unnecessary. But having lights in general is quite useful. I'm the type who stays up on their computer late into the night, and having LEDs on the keyboard means I can use minimal to no lighting in the room and still see what I'm doing. But yeah, the color picker is superfluous. My previous mouse was a SteelSeries Sensei and that had the ability to pick what color the logo was when it lit up. I picked the color I liked when I first got it, and never changed it. So that feature was pointless.

Also, while $200 is not necessarily the norm for keyboards, it is not unheard of. The bulk of that price comes from it being mechanical, not from the LEDs. High-end mechanical keyboards are rather expensive.

Congrats on 400 episodes!

I still enjoy your goofiness:

RE: Battlefield Hardline

Cheapy: ... the best part of the game is being a passenger in a car ...

Shipwreck: ... there's a lot of stealth stuff ... I just want to shoot people ...

Wombat: ... I'm pretty sure that's not how police officer-ing works ...

To switch to an architecture similar to the PS4/Xbox One would likely mean cutting Wii U BC support unless they spend a lot of resources to get that stuff to work on the new system. The controller stuff is an easier thing to make work, though standalone GamePads would likely be more expensive to produce for retail than would be worth it.

Yeah, I don't think Nintendo NEEDS to make a system as powerful as the PS4/One, just pretty close to it. For the past two years since their introduction, the big two systems HAD soooo many problems, which is not helped by the woefully inadequate internet infrastructure in this country.

If they do get really close, I just expect it to work without updating and downloading every time I turn it on.

oo baby those 9.0s, 9.5s and 10.0s are rollin in for bloodborne. called it. 28 positive, 0 negative critic reviews so far.

i was on point with my prediction of 9.0s there were 13 of them. 5 perfect scores. 5 95s and then a handful inbetween.

so excited for my copy to arrive later today!! best buy gamers club unlocked was a solid way to go. my copy is due to arrive within 24 hours.

So, "Top Analysts," Bloodborne is sitting at 93 on Metacritic. Most reviewers are dinging the game only because of the load times. What did you guys predict? Mid 80s?

Congratulations on making it to 400 episodes CAGcast crew. :)

Just think about how much has changed in 400 episodes time:

CheapyD and family have moved back to New York

Mr. and Mrs. Shipwreck had a child

Wombat and his wife had two kids

Congrats on 400 episodes, boys!

Story time:

My wife, a Jew from the Tri-state area, happened to hear her first ever CAGcast last week right as Wombat was bitching about Injustice not having enough content (an opinion he's welcome to but is woefully uninformed) and complaining about his $45 steak dinner and walked out of the room saying "if I wanted to listen to cheap Jews bitch about how expensive their meals were, I'd go visit my parents". I then proceeded to tell her about Wombat's begging for lunches and E3 swag hoarding. Needless to say, she had a good, hearty laugh but will not be listening to the CAGCast with me any time soon.

Moral of this story is that while I love you guys, you may want to dial down the kvetching. It's unbecoming and has people comparing you to their retirement-age parents.

I went ahead and ordered an 850 evo 1tb ssd today plus there will be a patch eventually to further improve them. The ssd will cut load time on gta v for example from 1min30s to 1min. Pretty good deal at $.37 per gb.

Congrats on 400 episodes. Havent missed one since #87 when i first heard of the site. I believe one of my first was the Wendy's Fish sandwich Wombat was mad about. Ive always enjoyed the show. Even felt guilty laughing at the xbox live messages Wombat got when he was the featured gamer. I also enjoy all of Shipwreck's Target scavenger hubts. I do the same thing sadly. Keep up the great work!
