Video Games The Movie DVD, $4.99 at Best Buy

This guy still owes people blurays from the Kickstarter project. It's pretty ridiculous that there's a retail DVD release and that wasn't even sent to the backers.

Documentary is decent. Somewhat disjointed but still enjoyable to watch.

I enjoyed it but DVD is dead to me.  You'd think that for a movie based entirely on technology, they'd know enough that they should put out a Blu release.  I admit that I didn't learn anything about the history of gaming that I didn't already know and live through, but I found it to be a nostalgic trip through memory lane.  The beginning montage to "Don't Stop Me Now" showing the evolution of gaming was, for the sake of a better word, heartwarming.  And the stats at the beginning regarding the average age, gender and social behavior of game players (among other things) made me feel vindicated when put up against naysayers who believe I'm too old to be playing video games or that it's a "guy thing" for shut-ins and socialphobes.  Just too bad it's not on Blu.  :(
