Ok so I decided to unhook everything in my entertainment/gaming area in my RecRoom. Everything has been hooked up but it has been a mess with wires everywhere. I currently have a tv mounted to the wall and next to the tv, I have two shelves. The lowest shelf is about 5ft from the floor and about 4ft from the outlet. I have a TV, PS4, XB1 & cable box. I'm looking for ideas and/or maybe products to help me hook everything up without the cables showing. Currently I have a surge protector sitting on a shelf, that's how I get power to everything. The shelves are pretty close to the tv, so I'm not to concerned with the HDMI cables going from the systems to the tv. Really just need a solution for all the power cables.

Behind the wall that the tv and shelves are mounted to is my laundry room. I was considering running the cables through the wall, and I could easily manage them from the opposite side. Or maybe use cable management covers of some sort.

Just figured people on here might have similar gaming setups and might have found a good solution. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I don't know if this will help as far as the wires not showing, but I usually take all my power cords and twist tie them together. It makes the appearance look neater and any excess cord can also be wrapped up.

If you're handy, piggyback another outlet off the one already there. Add an outlet where the shelf is. Get yourself a power center. Surge protectors are just to feel good about. Not going to stop anything. A power center will do that. Plus s master power switch.

Everything can plug into the power center. Get a hdmi switch and run all hdmi into that box. Them go from the box, behind wall up to TV.

Other option is to grab some grommets they use on computer furniture. Cut a hold on the wall, stick on grommet and route cables to behind wall. More hack that way but cheaper. Your going to need an outlet behind wall anyways.

What's a power center?

Edit: never mind after a quick google search I figured it out. Still don't think that'd help with all the wires being everywhere.

The more I think about it, I might just get a nice A/V cabinet to put under the tv. I could just hide the AC wires behind that. The only main reason I had the shelves before was my kids. When I set up my rec room, my kids were 2 & 7 years old. Now they are a little older, 6 & 11, and are able to be trusted around such things.

If I got a A/V cabinet under the tv, I could use one of those flat plastic pieces to hide the HDMI cables going to the tv or just run the hdmis though the wall.
