So the playoffs started Saturday and just wondering who you got. My team is preparing for the lottery so from a NBA fan I see west finals with spurs vs grizzlies/warriors (leaning more grizzlies) & east finals cavs/bulls (drose is x-factor) vs hawks. For the finals I got spurs vs cavs.

Not going to make any predictions, but I'm a lifelong Bulls fan. I was extremely happy with the team's performance last night and Rose's play, but it was only one game.

I see the Spurs winning again, but it's lame that they'll need to depose the Clippers in round 1 in order for that to happen. Far from being one of the best PG of all time, Chris Paul has been one of the best players of all time, and he's getting a bad rap for his teams' postseason performances. 5 of the top 6 players by win shares per 48 minutes:

1. MJ - .2505

2. David Robinson - .2502

3. Chris Paul - .2491

4. Wilt - .248

6. LeBron - .2401

Notable:

8. Magic Johnson - ..2249

13. John Stockton - .2087

41. Kevin Johnson - .1777

62. Steve Nash - .1636

101. Gary Payton - .1483

160. Deron Williams - .1363

For further reference, for players who haven't yet played enough games to qualify on the all-time leaderboard for that stat, Steph Curry pulls a .177, Russell Westbrook checks in at .148, Derrick Rose a .123, and Damian Lillard at .138. Chris Paul is not only unquestionably the best PG of the modern era, he's the best PG of all time, and also one of the greatest players of all time.

Unfortunately, nobody views him in this light because he's never had a great team around him. This Clippers team is the closest he's had to that, and he gets to face the freaking Spurs in the first round of the playoffs.

If Derrick Rose stays healthy the Bulls are going to win the East. Golden State has a pretty good chance to win the west. But I think whoever wins the Clippers/Spurs matchup could give them a hard time in the Conference Finals.

boy that clippers vs spurs series turning into a basketball war (clippers really screwed themselves big time in game 2)

boy that was a but whoopin the bulls but on the bucks, no mercy. they really want them cavs.

Y'all know who my team is.

My theory last night was that Thibodeaux left the starters in through 3 and poured it on due to the Bucks obnoxiously celebrating their Game 4 win with streamers and confetti.

Probably, but there was a lot of danger in guys getting hurt for no reason by leaving them in, especially Noah. Either way, that was a stomping.

the clippers with that win just opened up the west for either the warriors or grizzles, didn't think the clippers had it in them to pull this off.

Man Spurs vs Clippers was a great series. Too bad the clock guy screwed up, it pretty much killed that play for the Spurs.
They had 1 second to get a shot off though, they didn't lose because of a clock malfunction. They would have had to hit a miracle shot to win the game, the only complaint Spurs fans have is that flop by CP3 late in the 4th.

as the cavs are right now, they don't look like they matchup well with the bulls. drose driving sucking the defense in while he kicks it out for an open shot or does some acrobatic layup shows how important he is. in addition, Houston cant beat a clippers team without chris paul, they might be the remaining pretender (cough raptors cough) in the playoffs.

Not looking good for the Rockets. They can't stop Blake and Harden has been sub par

edit: lol i spoke too soon

Charles barkley described the rockets offense perfectly, harden iso at the top of the key (1vs5), jacks up a three or drives hoping to kick out to an open three point shooter or get one of his numerous phantom fouls. yea playing that way wont beat the clipps. if grizzlies can continue to harass the light skin  splash brothers & make shots, it will be a long offseason for the warriors. wizards might be fuck without wall but series could be a toss up still and can the bulls win more than 1 game against a LeBron team in the playoffs (rose, gasol & butler need to score in the 20's).

Warriors can't do anything against that defense. They need to run a real offense, some fancy iso play won't get them anywhere vs Memphis.

even though LeBron returned the favor, it looks like LeBron is going to have to revert back to "late 2000's playoff LeBron" where he was averaging in the mid to high 30's for the cavs to win this series. bulls let this one slip most definitely.

Yep, they basically screwed around and it bit them in the end.

David Blatt is so in over his head. One writer put it like this: "LeBron overcoming the incompetence of David Blatt is the greatest playoff victory in NBA history."

pau gasol better man up & get out there and help his team (as barkley says conley playing with a broke face). wiz/hawks, grizz/warr series have become very intriguing while the rockets started to play in their series a little too late

I think the Bulls are done, it might be time to blow up the team. If they can't beat the Cavs without Kevin Love, they aren't going to beat them anytime soon.

Bulls don't really have to blow it up. They got a young core in Butler, Mirotic, and Snell so as long as they keep improving they should be competitive for a while.

Thibs will probably get fired though, there has been too many "rumors" about it happening so I'd be shocked if he ends up coaching the Bulls next season.

Thibs is definitely getting fired. After the showing today, I really think it's time to figure out something different from the Bulls, the current group is not working.

Clippers lost tonight reminded me of the Packers/Seahawks playoff game. They played to not lose. Also Rockets were very lucky that Josh Smith went off haha. I doubt we'll ever see that kind of game from him again

the script has definitely flipped in the rockets vs clipps series (spurs at home scratching their heads). The bulls again cant seem to beat a Lebron playoff team, they got to make changes to the roster and the coaching staff (Carmelo really should have joined this team). Its do or die for the grizzs & wiz (hope they force a game 7).

If clippers lose, they really are a sad bunch (too bad we can't go back in time & put the spurs into the 2nd round). Guess it is looking like a cavs vs warriors finals (if a jump shooting team like the warriors win it proves NBA teams don't play any defense).
