So, tonight I decided to upgrade both my PS3 and PS4 hard drives to bigger units.  I figured both would support 2TB drives.

PS4 was no issue, but the PS3 was.  Is the max size drive allowed for the PS3 still 1TB?  If so, that sucks because I have a brand new 2TB hard drive that I can't even use.  I have read that 2TB works, but I wasn't able to get it to work.  I even tried creating a 1TB partition on it and that didn't work either.  Any info is appreciated.

I traded my buddy the 2TB for a 1TB + cash difference.  I had also read that 1.5TB had issues, so just to play it safe, I used a 1TB.

Dare I upgrade my PS3 from 750GB to 1.5TB?

I do enjoy hoarding/having all of the digital PS3 games I have acquired over the years ready to play.  Then again, I probably should start deleting the games I have finished.

Wow, my Persona 3 FES save file carried over in the backup/restore process when I upgraded my hard drive. Sony's page that tells you how to backup your hard drive says PS1 and PS2 saves won't be backed up. I waited to upgrade my hard drive until after I finished the game because I was already 20 hours in.

I bought a used 120 GB PS3 six months ago. I thought that would be enough since I figured I would mainly get physical PS3 exclusives that can now be found for $5 to $15. A year of PS+ added to my digital library a bit, but what I didn't expect is how many games I would be buying from the PSN sales.

I upgraded my PS3 with the 500 GB hard drive that was in my PS4. It'll have almost 300 GB filled by the time I download all my purchases and only the PS+ games I'm interested in.
