Best deal out there for PS3?

My launch PS3 is getting pretty long in the tooth, I've already upgraded to a PS4, but I keep getting the itch to go back and play PS3 games I missed.  I was thinking about getting a super slim since it would be quieter and smaller, and offer way more disk space. (I want the 500GB) 

What's the best advice for this?  Wait for E3 to see if there are any last-gen cuts or bundles announced? Are there any deals to be had right now?  I rarely ever see deals on the old systems, and the bundle situation seems really hard to navigate.  

This close to E3, it is always best to wait until E3 to see what's out there for possible sales/bundles/etc.  Since the PS3 is on the last-gen list at the moment, there isn't much else to be had with a new model coming out, though there may be something they'll do for a inventory reduction.

A better option for a PS3 would be to get the 12GB model without a hard drive and pick up a 1TB drive, installing it yourself.  I think the 12GB model needs a hard drive carrier which you would have to buy besides the drive.   1TB drives have been $60 - $80 depending on when you pick it up on sale.  You could always pick up a 500GB unit and then upgrade the driver later, if you wanted to.
