Call of Duty:Black OPS III

Looks like shit. Factor in wall running, powered suits and you have the same junk Titanfall and AW have now. COD has went down the drain since Black Ops.

Treyarch and their MP map designs is the only thing that would make me buy this. The whole future-thing already feels played out since AW (and Titanfall for that matter) just did it. As for the wall running and assorted crap, I grew so tired of the jet-packs and other gimmicks in AW that I dumped it faster than I have any COD to date.

COD needs to go back to its roots -- WWII, "modern warfare", whatever -- and give fans a real, honest to goodness shooter based in SOME kind of reality. They've gone so far off the rails with AW and seemingly this game that a disappointing game like Ghosts now doesn't look so bad. At least it doesn't have exo-suit powers and other garbage they've thrown into the game.

I'm not getting this. Last COD I got was Black Ops 2 and I sold that sometime ago. Haven't looked back since. I briefly played Advanced Warfare and I couldn't get into it at all.

AW didn't last long with me either. Sold it 2 weeks after release. I picked it up again because I wanted to try out the zombie stuff in the first DLC. Sold it again, and wasted $15 on a map pack. I'll stick with Battlefield because they are at least keeping it real.

I think CoD is finally starting to lose momentum, I haven't personally been interested in the series since Modern Warefare 2. This is what happens when you make a non-sports title annual and Battlefield does so many more interesting things compared to CoD which seems to rehash the same game with subtle difference every year. Black Ops 3 is no difference and it looks incredibly boring and has that been there, done that feeling to it from the trailer. I really hope this game bombs compared to past games and Activision decides to shelf the series for a few years and really works to make something different.

Can't believe this thread is as barren as it is for a Call of Duty game. For those that have it, if I didn't like the last AW because of all the jumping around stuff, is BO3 more of the same super chaos from every angle or not as crazy?

This is by far the most hectic one yet I would say. With the ability to wall run, super slide, swim underwater and jet boost people are coming at you from all angles and it relies more than ever on insane twitch reflexes. The movement is however much more fluid and works better than it did in AW. The controls and everything just feel tighter when pulling off all the insane movements.

I will say I do like this one though and I too am surprised at how dead this thread is. Zombies is solid though I will say they are adding almost TOO MUCH. I liked when they added more depth but there seems to be a bit more than I would like in the current one now. The multiplayer is enjoyable like all the others and I feel like this time the pick 10 system for creating a class is really hitting its sweet spot. The specialists add a nice added variety to the mix as well. Overall although the new additions are nice it still feels like another Call of Duty game, just on acid haha. I haven't really played a CoD game since Black Ops 2 (couldnt get into Ghosts and AW) and so for me it is just a nice change of pace to be playing it again.

I've played a little, seems fun enough. Zombie mode is confusing, I die and have to rewatch the damn cutscene.

I do long for CoD2, easily my favorite. I remember playing it on the highest setting, grinding out achievements.

Just finished the campaign.
That last level was the absolute worst COD level ever. The whole story was a confusing disaster, but that last level was complete and total nonsense. Not that COD has ever had great stories, but this is a new low.
The sad part is, the gunplay was pretty fun....just running around shooting guys was ok.
But it just felt like one of those Battlefield campaigns, a story that just went nowhere, and was an excuse to run around and shoot things.

Luckily for me when I pick up CoD games all I expect is to run around and shoot things! : P

I have been playing CoD since back with the originals and I never really felt engrossed in a well told story but rather just enjoyed the shooting. I know it is no excuse for a poor story but I just always go in knowing I will like the shooting/ gameplay and if the story pulls me in, even better!

Yeah the campaign "stories" have been becoming progressively dumber and convoluted as time has gone on. We've obviously gotten to the point now where COD is a virtual parody of itself. Once upon a time these games were based in reality and actual wars, now they're basic sci-fi shooters as realistic as Star Wars with "jetpacks" and nano-suits (though this one dials it back somewhat, thankfully, over AW).

There are a large quotient of gamers who would love to go back to reality -- and you wonder if they won't finally give everyone that wish because there's really nowhere else to go now that the series is SO far-fetched and outlandish in its settings. It's hard to see them going even FURTHER into the future than they already have with bombed-out cities and "Super Storms" ravishing the planet like some kind of Al Gore fever dream.

Either that, or they need to make a "Best Of" comp of past games with updated graphics and the original map designs from 360-era CODs. Thing would sell great IMO.

Best COD game since Black Ops 2. imho

Ghosts is literally dogshit. (Literally.)  MW3 and AW were passable, but unspectacular.

Multi is solid.

Campaign is a fucking chore. What the fuuuuck is this hub bullshit. I just wanna play through a goddamn story, mah bruvs. I don't need this Destiny bullshit.

Multi is solid, which all that matters, but the campaign is atrocious. fuckthatnoise

Guess you have to spell out "anyone" when you post after there is not a post in a thread in 3 months.  That or find others to play with.  Guess it's the latter.

If all else fails there is always:

I myself randomly play this game with zero consistency. I will play it and it alone for like an entire weekend and then not touch it again for weeks.

I did end up buying the game a few months back, and I do hate a lot of aspects of it. I think the big problems with the game come down to the amount of nonsense kills that happen. I don't recall past COD's being this bad for doing this, but it seems as if I get the drop on so many people, unload my gun on them and all of a sudden, they spin around and kill me somehow.

Now, this has happened so much in this game that I constantly think something is broken. I never encountered so many of these types of cheap kills. It's weird, because it's not hard to notice. You get the drop on someone, unload your gun, and then they turn around and kill you some how.

Also I could do without the wall running and boosters to jump higher. I'll be honest and Say I had more fun with Ghosts than I did with Black Ops III.
