This Skylander/Disney Infinity stuff is getting really ridiculous. I feel like they're saturating the market, like what happened with Guitar Hero/Band Hero/Rock Band/DJ Hero/etc.

Alright, it has now officially been 6 months since Target has had the $20 off a game with the purchase of a pre-order card. The last time was early November. Looks like they're done with that promotion for good. I'll miss all the nearly free games I got with it. Damn you, Target.

I hope people remember ads like this when they give the poor guy who does all the GS ones crap. Even the worst GS ad isn't this bad.

The difference of course is that Target is a department store and GameStop is primarily a video game retailer. Also, Target sales are typically really dry this year as are other retailers, but especially Target around Mother's Day gets real bad for game sales.

Not sure what's the deal with the Skylanders/Disney Infinity stuff being on-sale seemingly every week everywhere. Maybe there's more interest in it than what it seems. I suppose if you have kids age ~7-10 or so...but meh.

Can we blame the bad Target sells on GCU as well?

I've gotten brand new, usually the "limited edition" of brand new-ish games at Tarje for anywhere from $8-$16 in the past half year. Sears didn't even compare (except getting battefield 4 for $2)...I've gotten evolve, AC:unity, and countless others (literally just now) for around $9-$11 after tax each... I don't know why people hate on Target, I adore it. I have yet to buy a thing at BBY.

If you buy brand new release games its different. If you want to wait awhile for games to drop in price you can get a better deal else where but even then, the price would drop at best buy as well and you would still get $20 off that price.
Really it depends on what you think "brand new-ish" games are.
Id love to know what new game LE you are getting at target for $8-$16 though.

Man, honestly you'd be semi-shocked. Feel free to PM me, I'm not big on "exploits" but for the most part, it's either things that I'm sure you guys already know about, and in certain occasions, it's a few other tricks I picked up over the last year or so. Also, I'm not sure if it matters, but this has been mainly for PS4, but also other various electronics, accessories, various random games, and etc.
I agree with being able to get a game the day it's released at my local BBY (3 minute drive), along with the occasional "rewards" they give are enticing, but I'm relieved that I didn't go through with what was going to be my initial GCU purchase - Mortal Kombat:X - strictly because even though I know I'll love the game, the whole Goro/Season Pass/Micro-transactions/On-Disc DLC completely turned me off and I'll wait for either a huge price drop or for the eventual "Komplete Kollectors edition" or whatever they'll call it. My backlog is literally insane on the PS4 at this point. I've never even played GTA:V or Cod:AW And about ~15 other games that are sitting there, looking beautiful, in their original cellophane? packaging. Thanks you for the input though man!! I'm sure I'll eventually get a game or two through GCU and will be happy with the purchase, but I have to get through the backlog.
