Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection $32.99 PS3 on Amazon

Agreed; fantastic deal. just as a side note only the first run copies came with the bonus art book. I dont think these do. But either way amazing for that price.

I think this must be a second run because out of no where all the gamestops I have been too all have this in stock.

Are MG and MG2 included in all versions of MGS3? I have it digitally on ps3 and in the ps2 collection, never checked

Also, won't the digital codes be expired by now? Seems to only be MGS1/MGS:VR Missions

Ugh. I have:

MGS 1,2,3 from the ps2 collection. (with an extra of mgs1)

Digital version of the 2,3,PW collection

Physical version of VR missions (somewhere)

And MGS4 physically.

So i'd be getting this for a 2,3,PW physical collection it seems

yea and there even a eBay seller with new copies for $34.99 got over a 100 of them so they reprinted the new print by the Tons which is why only the art book version first print is the one remaining value while this one is dropping in price even seen copies go for $25 to $30 quite a bit on eBay

about $20 to $25 at least alone so if you want complete set you better off trying to find one in wild or buying a used complete set for about $55 on eBay
Whoa really? I was actually asking because I have the art book and would consider getting rid of it for the right price. $20 to $25 for a tiny art book? A good deal if I do say so myself considering I remember price matching a Fry's ad at Best Buy to get The Legacy Collection (first print with art book included) brand new for $25. I was just curious about this but now I'm considering selling the art book if it's really gotten that pricey, but I don't see any auctions up for it individually on ebay so I'm guessing the demand isn't that high. It might not be worth my time to list it in that case.

yea idk about just the art book it self but the game alone is about $30 to $35 on ebay and then complete copies with artbook are about $55 on average is how i came up with the number

So if you wait you should be able to get this below $30.
idk about that but the only reason the game had worth was cause OOP and Art book which made it rare and it still is but the 2nd print of the game in just vanilla print seem very over printed.

Example on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Metal-Gear-Solid-The-Legacy-Collection-Sony-Playstation-3-2013-BRAND-NEW-/351266271031?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51c919ef37

87 sold and he still has probably a unlimited amount left at $33.80

so since most people wanted it for the artbook and rarity value supply of the 2nd print will probably be more then actual demand

I bought mine when I saw it drop to $35. I was super ticked that it was a second edition. Those don't come with that cool cover or the art book. All the games are there but still a bit of a bummer. Side note most of the games are in disc 1, disc 2 is MGS 4 and there is a dlc for the VR missions.

What order do you guys recommend playing these in?
play in order of release
I may be biased because I played them out of order to begin with(3,2,1,4,PW), but I always suggest people start with MGS3. It's still one of my favorite games of all time and I always worry if people start with 1 then they may give up on the series entirely.

Release order. Each game build off the last one's mechanics and story. Even the prequels reference past games that take place decades further in the timeline.

Metal Gear 1 (Optional. Plays like an NES game, has a barebones plot) -> Metal Gear 2 (Optional but recommended. Play like an SNES game with an in-depth plot that ties directly into MGS1) -> MGS1 (Has plot summaries of MG1 and 2 if you decide to skip, doesn't cover important MG2 events though). -> MGS2 -> MGS3 -> MGSPO (Optional. Semi-canon, general events happened but details are off. Just watch the ending and post-credits phone-call on Youtube) -> MGS4 -> MGSPW -> MGSV (when it's out).

The Legacy Collection includes every game mentioned here except PO and MGSV. Metal Gear 1 and 2 are included with MGS3HD and MGS1 & VR Missions are PSN download codes.
